JL Sub help in C350
So I am getting some subs in my c350 this week, but stuck between a few choices. I can get 2 12w3v3 with a HD 750 jl amp for around $1300. SQ is important but I want to make sure I can get it loud when I want.
But I do want to make sure I get excellent sound quality to go with my Harmon Kardon system (may upgrade in future but good for now). My trunk is very sealed so the options are to remove factory sub and open up ski port to make the bass go through to the cabin.
What would you recommend? Staying with the 2 w3v3 or upgrading to a single 12 w7 with the HD 750 amp? (mayy get the 1000pdx amp if it'll be necessary) If I spent that money is it going to be a big improvement or not worth the extra $$.
I was also entertaining 2 10w6v2s. If anyone has done subs in their c class can you let me know if one sub will be enough or do I really need to power up and spend the cash to get the higher end system.
Thanks and appreciate your help.
I have been planning for 3 years and keep getting sidetracked. I just finished my install in my new FJ Cruiser (my toy), and now my wife keeps saying how much the Mercedes system sounds like crap. She said "whatever you did on the truck- do on the car". I guess that the approval I wanted.
Good luck with your install.
I would go with the 2 12W3v3 subs and the new JL XD 600/1 amp. Sound quality is incredible, size is small, and the price is about half the HD.
I like Image Dynamics too, but I like JL amps better.
If anyone has tried the w3v3 and a w6v2, is there a big difference in sound quality in a trunk of a car, rather than being in the cabin like an SUV? Or is it negligible.
