Fog light glass

Do a search and you'll find a bunch of us have gone through the same problem...myself included. It's a design flaw...the placement of them makes the lens extremely vulnerable to getting hit with rock and road debris. MB won't cover it under warranty either...several of us have tried.

In MA we have no deductible for glass. However, although the fog is glass, I'm guessing the insurance won't cover it because the glass cannot be replaced separately (must replace complete fog assembly). Anyone in MA ever submit a claim for it successfully?

But, after I had to replace my sidemarkers (which have to be done through the fender liner), it really isn't that hard. The best method I found for removing the three plastic pins is to use two flathead screwdrivers and pull out from the top and the bottom of each pin at the same time, then, when the pin is removed, put the two screwdrivers on opposite sides of the plastic washer and wiggle it out of the grooves. There are three of these in each fender liner. It is possible to remove them with your fingers, but I found it too hard, cold, and maybe mine were stuck in there good. But never the less, when they come out you pull the fender liner out of the way and you can see the back of the foglight housing. Make sure to adjust the wheels to give you ample space in the wheel-well. (For example: if working on driver side, turn wheels all the way to the right, and for passenger side, turn wheels left.
