2010 recall

Just got a call from my dealer for the 2010 C300 (at least)... recall on the controller for the power steering. Anyone else? He says "it has to be done".

Haven't heard from them. But I talked to a MB representive yesterday, she told me that the recall will soon be started. And we be contacted by the dealer if our specific cars are involved.

One friend of mine has a c300 2008 with 60,000 miles. He had to repair by his own cost the power steering bomb and some hoses here in Dominican Republic. He spent about us$1,600.00 here fixing it. Are 2008 included in the recall?

Sorry, but I was told the 2008 W204 are not included.

from what I read from the auto news, the recall is really just a loose (not torqued properly) power steering hose connector. The dealer will inspect the connector and tighten if needed.

2010 recall

I spoke with a local MB service advisor and was told that the recall was VIN specific, and that only those with affected VINs would get a letter. If no letter, then you're OK. I would have hoped that either way we all would get a letter, so we each would know for sure.
