Price range of HID kit?

After researching around for a while, I decided to pull the trigger to throw a set of HID kit.
I always want the "While (blue) lighting "on my car. But I didn't get the Premium Package 2 and I regretted right after seeing a W204 on the road with the white Xenon headlight.
After searching around, I found that a HID kit could give the car "White(Blue) Lighting" looking. I've seen some DIY threads on the forum, but I decide to have a store installing for me. Since I have no idea how much this is gonna cost me and I don't wanna be ripped off.
I am in Nor Cal, would any of you happen to have the idea about the price range of the parts and the labor? Is it better that I order the HID kit online by myself? Any input would be appreciated.

For me, the only black c300 that I wanted had standard lights, but I wanted the HIDs so I paid for it separately for 750 I think. MB installed it for free when I drove it home. This probably doesn't help you though...

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know the dealership could do this. I will give them a call for a quote. but I think they would ask more than $750 since I will have to pay the high labor. How is your HIDs working out by far?

you should just save the money and install it yourself. its really not that hard. if you buy it from the shop and have them install it you might be looking around the 200-300 price range.

depending on what kit you get will decide on how much you spend. DDM tuning has a good set that most people on here like. price on the kit i think is like $60 or so. i went for the phillips kit cause when i bought my car they didn't have one with the P2 package so i made the dealer cover the cost for my kit.

I just relocated. And don't have a garage to do the work. sigh.
I think I saw some HID kits at the price around $200. Is there any difference between those $200's and $60's?
And how is you phillips kit working out by far?

All I can say is, I will never drive a car with standard lights ever again
It also looks bad *** when it's complemented with the eyelids and fogs on.

But come to think of it, I think 750 was the price with installation included. But whatever, no complaints

they work just the same. but a saying i go by is you pay for what you get. i love the phillips kit.. although it cost $280.. but i didn't pay for it so thats a plus. i got the 4300k kit and they look good. it looks a little bit brighter than stock when pulled up next to a car with oem hid.

these came with the adapter clip and error canceller. i didn't use the adapter clip cause i didn't know how they sit into the socket. their bulbs actually looks like h7 bulbs and they fit no problem.

you don't need a garage to do the work. i have a garage but decided to install it at a friends house which his garage is full with cars so i did it in his driveway. took about 20-30mins

Is the HID kit only for low beams? Or the kit includes high beams and low beams?

I bought mine for like 60$ and they weren't hard to install at all.. A shop could probably do it in an hour. I'm sure there's plenty in norcal that could do it

Does anyone know if it's legal to have 55w,8000k headlight? My friend used to get a high beam ticket in cali. And I am wondering if a VERY BRIGHT hid headlight is legal here?

You need to make sure the projector is aligned right. If your frined has an HID kit for a non projector headlight, itll be a blinding light explosion for oncoming traffic. SO yeah, he deserves a ticket.
