I have the 55w 8000k DDM slim digital ballast kit. I would choose 55w all over again if I had to. It does not perfectly match my 8000k LED, because the 55w washes out some of the color, but I like it. I would get 55w.

OEMs are 35w, but the 55w will certainly not cause any melting in the headlight. the 55w HID I have from ddm run cooler than the stock 55w halogens that used to be in there. But I'm sure that there is always going to be some type of danger, you never know, and you can never be 100% certain. The way I look at it. If anything happens, remove the HID (taks about 10 minutes) and replace with stock stuff, and return to the dealer... lol.

Ok, lets set this record straight before people get confused. the stock halogen bulbs from mercedes (non xenon HID lighting) are indeed 55w. HOWEVER, the stock Xenon HID lighting, as most OEM HID lighting packages are, are 35W, not 55w. But yes, just order the 55w digital slim ballast ** (very important it is this one and not the raptor) from DDM, and you will have no problems, purely plug and play except for a small hole you drill in the dust cap cover (which ddm supplies a grommet for).
