What does B Service Includes?

I have searched for this question on the forum but found no threads with a complete answer. What does B service includes? I am up for it in 900 miles. A fellow MB owner took his to the "stealership" for it and cost him over $500 dollars (this is in Puerto Rico). From what I have been able to gather thru the grapevine, this is what they do at the dealership for Service B check:

1. Oil change Including Oil Filter.

2. Fluids check and refill if needed.

3. Replacement of Cabin Filter (where is this thing located at?)

Is this correct? Over $500 dollars for just these items seems to be a very steep price! Please advice.

I started a thread about two weeks ago, go look at it and you'll see. It's a bunch of BS. The name of the thread is Service B is a Ripoff. Look it up.

Is it really necessary to bleed the brake lines every 2 years? It's a closed system...

Its a preventative. Brake fluid will absorb water. Your Mastercylinder is not hermetically sealed. Therefore outside air will enter and with it moisture in the form of humidity. Brakes heat up on usage. That will cause the water to boil and introduce air. This in turn will lower the effectiveness of your brakes. Its a cheap DIY if you don't want to pay someone.

Just called my dealership, Mercedes of Annapolis, and they have a pretty "good deal" for their A/B services: A service regular $270 (with online coupon $219) / B service regular $432 (with online coupon $349) [http://www.mercedesofannapolis.com/s...-coupons.aspx]

The service guy said that you should do the A/B service annually for every 10K - 13K miles, which lines up with your oil changes. He also said that sometimes you'll get a C-F service, which is essentially an A/B service with something additional (Brake Fluid Flush, etc.).

What year is your C300? Find your maintenance manual here:
http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/servic...enance_manuals

It'll tell you what each service includes.

C250 B service

I got a $150 off coupon from local dealer. I wonder how much they charge for B service w/o coupon.

Maybe it's finally time to start DIY on this car. ( 2012 C250 w/77800 miles)

Almost 10 years with my 2011. For the first few years I followed A and B then I skipped some B sometimes even skipped A, just oil change but still I had to pay $99.
My guess is European cars are generally not as reliable as Japanese ones, so they require more frequent and more items to check, therefore more expensive.

The cost of maintenance is more due to luxury brand than reliability I would imagine. I haven't owned one, but from what I've read online Lexus dealer maintenance costs are roughly the same as Mercedes. Leaving the dealership can net you some savings at an indy for all brands. My understanding is Japanese brands are generally considered more reliable due to being able to run longer while drivers ignore or skip the recommended service intervals to save money. German brands are less tolerant of poor maintenance than their Japanese counterparts...
