Reseting the radio after battery recharge.
I recently recharged my battery after the headlights were mistakenly left on over night on my 1999 C 230 K. Everything basically reset nicely after the battery was reinstalled with the exception of the radio. I have a shop manual that indicates that when the car is switched on and the radio is turned on for the first time a 'CODE' text message appears on the radio display. However I am not seeing this. I checked to see if the fuse was blown but it appears in tact. Can anyone out there offer any ideas or suggestions as where to investigate this problem next?
Best Regards,
Bill H.

Do you mean the car radio does not operate at all but still does not ask for a security code? Does it show any life? It could be the fuse at the fuse box or the fuse at the rear of the radio.

Yes, I have the original card that includes the reset code since the owners manual package came with the car when I purchased it. However it appears that there isn't any power getting to the radio since the LED screen is blank. Therefore there isn't any prompt to start the reset process.
Another member said to change the fuse I may try that and reply back with the results. I noted there are spare fuses in the box. this should be easy to do.
In any event thank you for your reply.

Can't be both.
