i dont know what went wrong. in this cable the yellow and white carry audio
the red carries the video
when i plug it in the image is fussy and unstable. u can kinda see the image, so for its a good sign of acutally having video on from the aux input but it just does not work. i don't know if it was because if what i used or what not.

i have 1 2010 c300 with the multimedia package.
has anybody gotten this to work?

OK new link now working from Mobileme.
Thanks B AS IN BENZ

to me it sounds like your cable is messed up. Red and white is always audio and yellow should be video.

Well I know this. I've read in many forums that it people had the same issue of the yellow not being video but in fact audio. However it was on 2008-2009 models. I'm still trying to figure out if I even have video in on my 2010 model.

I mean so far it's not a negative nor positie result. Maybe there was just too much interference with my laptop and the adapter and cable. Once I got the 3.5 mm to female 3 RCA I'm going to plug in my digital camera. Hopefully I can get image.
If that does work I will then buy a tv tuner. I'll keep you guys posted. If all this works eventually my next step is going to install the video in drive. I'm gonna have to save some cash thoe

Easiest way to test whether it is the cable that is giving you problems is to hook it all up to a TV with video input and then see if it plays properly then. If it plays properly then you need to check the source our the receving part.

Plug in a camcorder or playback some photos from your digi cam into the AUX and see if that plays back on the car display if that works then it narrwos it more down to the source.

Speaking from a technical perspective. The yellow white and red cables are virtually identical, but they are color coded so that you don't mix anything up when plugging in both ends. However, in this case where the red, white, and yellow are only on one side, and then turn into a 3.5mm jack, each rib on the jack represents one cable's signal. And they are arranged in such a way that the red carries the right audio, white carries the left audio, and yellow carries the video.

If you are only looking for video and no audio, it may be best to try s-video, since your mac connector has this output on it. In my opinion, you have too many adapters, and each adapter degrades signal quality. Try to find and adapter that will get whatever you are trying to play video from to connect to your car in one shot.

Jctevere. Thanks for your insight. I kinda thought that maybe that's why the image was not working due too many adapters. But I'm not an expert.
That's why I order a 3.5 mm to 3rca female end. I'm still waiting on it to arrive.
What I want to do is both video and audio and that MacBook was they only thing that I had to test out the cable in my car. I plan on using my camcorder to test it out again with the new cable I order so hopefully I get a positive result.
