HR springs quick question

Would it be ideal to go w/HR sports instead of supersports if i have a front lip and running on 19s? I do not want risk scraping or breaking the lip but also have a lowered look. Thanks

I have the exact same setup you are asking about. Front lip, 19s and HR Sport. I think it's the best way to go. No rubbing and it clears all driveways.

Personally, don't compromise how much of a drop you want based off your lip. When you buy a front lip, you need to just acknowledge that you'll scrape it. It happens. Having it lowered a fraction of an inch more or less won't offer you much buffer room anyways up front realistically. Better way to avoid scrapes is to change your driving habits with angled approaches to drive ways, keeping an eye out in front for on ramps that just aren't lower car friendly and being willing to accept driving to the next on ramp that might be friendlier, and back your car in whenever you park.

I ran with H&R sports, drop was ok, but too mild for the look I wanted. Supersports would have been better (for me), but opted for coilovers which allows for fine tuning height to what I want.

+1,a quarter of an inch is not going to keep you from scraping your lip.. just remember that its there and be more cautious.. the super sport drop looks way better in my opinion, good luck

+1 on the Super Sports

I have the same set up as yours, I have 19's paired with 235/35 front and 265/30 rear with no rubbing

I had H&R Sports at first and I wasn't satisfied with the drop, it only lowered the ride by a quarter of an inch on all corners... I replaced it with Super Sports and it lowered it by an inch on all corners and the handling is better compared to Sports... the Sports seems stiffer, i also have a front lip and you have to be extra careful when negotiating steep ramps and watch out for those high parking blocks, keep in mind the bottom part of the lip is made of fiber glass and can be easily damaged by scrapes but it's better to scrape the lip than scraping the bottom bumper

+1 on super sports.. even if it's gonna scrape the lip., it's worth it for the sick look..!!! i hav s sports, 5mm pads wth 18"s now.. i wanna go lower than that... still savin' up for coilovers tho.. u should definitely install the 5mm pads too.. that's a huge difference...

+1. Super sports for sure. That's how I'm gonna go in the future and I'm getting a lip within the next month or two.

Semi-off/on topic. To those who DO scrape their lips, how/where do you get the scrapes fixed?

Only way to fix scrapes is take the lip off, bondo, sand, and paint it.. If its CF then idk.. But if its at the bottom, you can't see it anyway

If the CF isn't compromised, you can sand down the clear and reclear it. If it has (which happened to be before), you can take it to a composite shop and have them relay the CF.

Most front lip has a fiberglass bottom but I have seen a few where the CF wraps around all the way to the bottom... If it's only mild to moderate scrapes on the bottom I wouldn't worry about, fixing it would probably cost the same as buying a new one since you will be needing epoxy, resin and labor costs. If it's a crack that is more than an inch long than I would probably consider repairing it since the crack may work it's way to where you drilled the holes

I'm looking to buy springs now too, I think I'm going to bite and say super sports. Seems that everyone gets the sports and than switches out in the end.
I'm going to run 20" wheels though, I'd hate to have the need to roll my fenders- anyone have this problem?
Tires will be 245/30R20s up front and 275/25/20s in the back. It's efx1's old set up, he was running H&R sports and they had a perfect look with the 20s... any advice? I'd like to do this once.

With 20's i would run sports or you will probably rub. Largest that can fit accurately are 19's.

It's like the 80s when everyone said "That's Bad"...when they meant "That's Good". Or the very short lived "That looks super stoopid"....when they meant "That looks super hot"

Frnakito71 has this set up... He has super sports with 20 inch Vossen wheels, 275/25 Rear, I forgot what size he has for the front but he has zero rubbing issues

245/30/20 for the front might be pushing it with super sports... keep in mind that the springs will settle more after install... hard decision

I think I may stick with sports. It looked fitting on efx1's 350 and I was worried about settling as well, I'd hate to run into a rubbing issue.

you'll be fine with H&R Sports... it will still give your car a nice aggressive stance, don't forget to get 5mm rear spring pads to even it a little bit
