Good idea to buy an '11 right now?
Im wondering if i should wait till the '12 comes out or just go for an '11 right now. I dont mind buying an '11 as long as the '12 will come out with no major changes which seems to be the case on the leaked photos. Someone was saying that there gonna be a change on the engine but im not sure. Is the '11 the mid-cycle refreshed model? Please let me know of any changes they're planning to make on the '12. Any input would be much appreciated.

The latest pics show a change in the interior (specifically, the dash). It's well worth the wait if you ask me, we have the 7inch COMAND and I hate watching it mechanically "rise from the dead". It seems very childish - though, from what I can gleam from pictures, the new 2011 Audi A8 has a similar retractrable screen (As done the new Cadillac CTS), so what do I know.

I would probably wait too. Id hate to buy a new car and plop down so much money to have it be obsolete in a few months.
Probably will not be an engine update. of course, this is only my speculation. My thoughts are that Benz would not put 300hp in the C class when the E class still uses the old 3.5. So the question is when will the E class get the new 3.5 with DI? probably during its refresh, and that wont be for another year or two.

Here's a different perspective, as it seems you have the luxury of time....wait for the first of the '12s to arrive. Go to the dealer and negotiate your best deal on a remaining '11 without making reference to being willing to buy a '12....just look "out of curiosity", but make it clear you're not interested in paying for the newer car. If the dollars make sense, the '11 might be the smarter buy, and you will have had a chance to see the difference. If the '12 really grabs you, you can always "reconsider". I bought a brand new $57k 2008 E Class for $44k at the start of the '09 model year.
Keep in mind what I think is obvious, the '11 is still a new car, with years and tens or hundreds of thousands of miles to offer....it is most certainly not obsolete for the sake of a change in the curve of a surface!!

Eh, I just got mine last night, P1, Pano, Lighting, AMG Wheels, MM and heated seats...I love this car and in two years I will get another one. There will always be something just around the corner and I love the car now and I know it will not be that long of a wait until I can get another one.
