Spilled Soda on Headunit - Sticky Buttons
Hey guys,
Stupid me, I accidentally swiped my arm into a can of soda resting in the center console and spilled soda all over the buttons on my headunit. I tried my best to clean/dry them, but some of it went in the buttons. Now the buttons are rather sticky!!
I've taken the headunit out a few times to do a DIY rear-view camera and such, but I don't recall if its possible to take off the front plate of the head unit exposing the buttons so that i can really clean them off.
Anybody, by chance, know if I can remove the front cover off of the headunit?
Also, the S/C button near the shift knob got some in there too! Can it be easily removed so that i can really clean them off?
I drive a 2010 C300 4Matic with the MM package, if it helps!
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the replies!
If i could just remove the front plate off the head unit, it would make it so much easier. I don't know if its removable or not yet though ><
I have been searching google a bit and it appears there may be some kind of solvent that you can spray into the unit that will eat the sticky residue up and won't damage electronics. Anyone have any experience with these types of products?

Go to Rat Shack and get some "TV/Tuner Cleaner". Not going to be a miracle solution depending on how much soda got in between, but it's safe for plastics and electronics. Spray some on then "agitate" by pushing the buttons over and over. Standard disclaimer applies. RTFM (well, label)!

See if your dollar store sells the keyboard cleaning slime. It looks just like the old He-Man/Ghostbusters slime toy from the 80's, but more solid like silly putty. It's got cleaning agent mixed in so will leave a bit of a film that you'll have to wipe off with a rag, or you could let it evaporate.
