i had a problem last winter but ok so far this winter.
Mine is rather annoying though it squeaks a lot, like it swallowed a mouse
works and all but when the fan is on "low" so much squeak!
im guessing it will die soon, but im trying to prolong it until i can come up with $450 or so to fix.

2008 C300 - Manual
Blower was acting funny (getting louder than 50,0000km ago when I bought it) so I mentioned it to the dealer while there for other issues and they did a quick check and will be replacing the blower free of charge. I got 101,000km on the car now.
I have their Star Warranty and because my C300 2008 is a Jan production model, it appears there is a service note on the part.
@angeloxnet , if you have the star warranty, go in and just complain about it. It's a major component and should be covered as mine was.

So I just had this happen this morning.
Control light up, but no defog/ac/heat in the morning...very cold outside
After work in the afternoon, everything worked fine...
I'm going to save money and not take it to the dealership yet. They'll just tell me "well, it works, doesn't it?" to save them the trouble.
If it happens again, I'll take it in.

Blower Fan
I have the same issue. I just pulled the battery cover off and barely touched the cage while the car was running and it took off. What do you think that would indicate? Blower motor beginning to fail? It has been super cold here the past couple of days but I do not see any indication or ice or moisture in the cage compartment.
Thanks
Thanks

Soory new here and i had this issue happen to me this morning. You guys are a bunch of awesome people. i was able to resolve the issue by simply opening the hood taking off the fan cover right next to the battery cover gave the motor a little spin while the car was running and off it went :P
Thank you for all the help and helpful tips

2017 Mini Cooper S Clubman ALL4 - British Racing Green
Mine just crapped out.. worked last night.. this morning.. nothing...
Ran a complete diagnostic, cannot actuate the blower... Can actuate the vents and recycle valve, but that resets when the car turns off, which means I need to keep the computer in the car to open the vents to get air into the car (its spring, so while hot, moving air is cool). I cannot open the windows as my 2 year old hates the wind and the noise at high speed (wind noise, not engine noise), so I need to actuate the vents.
Guess I will be replacing the blower. The drainage issue, is that the blower motor itself, or is it the housing the motor goes into. I can easily replace the blower (found new OEM replacement for $170), but if this is going to happen again, I will pitch a fit with MB. My dealer likes me and has taken care of me (well the parts dep does anyways), but I am 6 months out of warranty (still within the mileage one though...)... maybe I can get them to cover this.

fix
I ended up replacing mine. It only took about 30 mins. Just make sure you check the type of plug connector you have. there are two different connectors used and I learned the hard way.

I have a similar problem on my 09 C300. i hear the blower is working but not able to change the setting on the vents resulting in NO AIR blowing i through the vents.
Somone here had similar problem, what did the dealer replace or what was the root cause and how much to fix it?
So where can i check for fuse to see if that is the case or to fix it by opening up the blower and see if that works?
Thanks in Advance!!

My 2012 had the blower motor replaced as well cause it was working intermittently and eventually not at all. SA stated that is very common cause the motor is in a spot that is susceptible to water damage from the windshield drainage getting under the hood.

Would a faulty thermosat prevent heat from not working/blowing.
I am having a heating now blowing though the vents and i also have have a code for thermostat.
The blower motor blows and i can hear but I am not feeling any air blow through the air vents.
So wonderin if this issue is due to the thermostat or could this be something entirely different.
Thanks in Advance!
