Release the spring clips at each end of the back edge along the firewall. You can then tilt the box forward and look in at the vertical squirrel cage blower.

rock632 had same problem back in January.
Its 15 degrees outside, turn on my MB to warm it up. Heat does not go one. Lights light up on the controls, but nothing.
Has anyone else had this problem? Out of warranty and dont know what to expect from MB Service.
My c300 has 68000 miles on it and I found out that neither the dealer nor MB really care about my problem. I talked to both of them on the phone. At MB I had a very stressed, irate and unfriendly female on the phone who felt bothered and told me to call the service manager at the dealership. The dealership service manager told me that the car is out of warranty.
Neither of them seems to understand that consumers buy cars with good quality reputation for reasons of quality, trouble free operation and longevity.
The bill is 460 bucks. I'll get it fixed and change brands ...
