i have given up on this.. omg everytime I try to peel it, it peels off part of the emblem too and now I have plasti-dip stuck around the edges behind letters and i can't even pick them out with a tooth pick..

Remove the 3 star torx bolts then carefully snap the chrome piece from mesh grille.

Like tanktube says it is possible but it isn't needed if all you want to do is put on the lamin-x film.

The key on the chrome is careful the tabs are very easy to snap off. I did mine with black out tape. Also the Lamin-X is a breeze some heat while applying is helpful also it will have a milky look for a couple of days while the glue sets.

For the star emblem, all you need to do is pull it straight off. Don't try plasti-dipping it on the car. It won't work (cleanly). No need to bother pulling the trunk liner for the emblem.
