its held in with 3 grommets behind the thick part of the star. you can pull the trunk liner and push out the grommets and star from behind. sand it down lightly and use black plasti dip. if you happen to destroy the white plastic grommets, the dealer will have them in stock at like 4 dollars for all 3.

Yeah it holds up fine , I did rims with it about three months ago and it's still perfect even after the harsh Ny weather . You just tape around the star on the hood and spray like if you don't want to take it off just be sure to do at least 3 coats and maybe some flat drying clearcoat for protection .

As others have said, plastidip works well to black out the emblems. Just make sure you cover up other parts of the car really well. Stupid breeze ended up blowing some plastidip past the newspaper I used to cover the trunk and onto the paint when I did it....I gotta find time to get a clay bar and get it all off now...I swear, that stuff does NOT want to wash off with soap and water...T_T

Ouch, but clay bar should take care of you! I know it has saved me in the past from some over spray that the dealer had gotten on my car!

How long does it take to gain access to the star and remove it?

just paint it yo

slide some business cards behind the star and mask off the trunk

too much work to pull off the star and ur more than likely to break the plastic things on the back of the star when pulling it out..

Take the few extra minutes to remove the star prior to dipping or painting. If something is worth doing it is worth doing right.

Best way to do it is, go to the stealer purchase a new star about $15.00 and painted, 99% of the time the star will brake once you pull it out.

Do you have yellow film over your fogs or just yellow bulbs?

i tried this stuff last night.. and whenver I would want to peel the surroundings away from the emblem, it would always stick to the emblem and peel the plasti-dip off the emblems as well. Any tips? haha or maybe it's not a good idea to paint your emblems in -20 weather.

How hard was it to install? Can you take the chrome housing off the fog lights to make installation easier or did you do it with the chrome on?

I have some on my car too. They are very easy to put on. You just need to unscrew the 3 or 4 screws I believe and it goes on from there.
