The common problems are the EIS (electronic ignition switch), front SAM or the CPS (crankshaft position sensor).

Found this.

The ESP control module (N47/5) that originates this fault signal, takes continuous inputs from many sources, and computes a result to determine if the situation is normal/abnormal. So you can take your pick from the following:

1. 4 wheel speed sensors
2. steering angle sensor
3. lateral acceleration sensor
4. yaw rate sensor
5. ESP brake pressure sensor
6. stop lamp switch
7. parking brake switch
8. ME-SFI control module
9. ETC control module
10 ESP OFF switch
11. BAS release switch
12. BAS diaphragm travel sensor.

The ESP not being operational will not prevent the car from starting.

The ESP warning can be seen at startup with nothing else affected and a restart restores normalcy.

Electronic constipation.

Matt from PowerChip said that the tune was invisible and if your ECU is fry how they find out you had a tune?

The ECU tune is flashed onto an EPROM - how can it be invisible???

Ask Powerchip to restore your ECU to good health. ECU failures are not common. An ECU tune should not have any effect on ECU durability at all.

There are also module repairers that can fix an ECU at a fraction of MB's new cost.

PowerChip said that only engineers on Germany will be able to tell the difference because only the parameters were chance, if the ECU is fry and there is no communication I understand by that no one will be able to get any info from the ECU.

Warranty?

Get off the internet and get the car to the dealer.

If you actually read what the OP has said, he has brought it to the dealer and is being denied warranty because he had a ECU tune done. If you have nothing useful to add to the thread, then don't post.

Well, then he has no alternative, but to get it diagnosed and repaired OFF WARRANTY and pay for it.

How's that? Warranty denied, take it in and bite the bullet. Few independents will be able to handle a car so new, so now he has to live with the expense. Take the risk during the warranty period, pay for the repairs if or when denied.

The shortcut is going to the dealer and ponying up for a replacement.

The thing is Glyn is perhaps one of the, if not, the most knowledgeable member here. He chimed in to go back to the place that modded the ecu. That is the shortest shortcut one can take in order to see what's really the culprit.

Have you thought about going to a different dealer who doesn't know you or the car? Might be worth seeing what they say or do? Any dealer should be able to provide warranty service. If a second dealer gives the same answer, then the new tune is likely actually visible to the techs.

I agree with you completely however, if the dealer(original) that he went to wanted to be smart couldn't they have indicated through their system that the warranty was voided? Just a thought.
