New 2010+ Style Mirror LED 'COVERS' for $139?
#103
Here's a few pics of the silver on silver. I noticed on my neighbor's 2010 E350, that the plastic mount for the mirror is also a gloss black plastic that matches the bottom of the replacement mirror.. but our mount is a dull black, like the diffuser. Has anyone checked if the newer OEM mount fits our car and this mirror?

Just came across this on eBay and decided to look/search here and luckily someone else has it. So now I feel comfortable enough to go ahead and purchase. I have a black 08, not sure of the differences in black I'll have to look that up.
Blue do u have your write up in PDF? I'll more than likely be getting them professionally installed anyway because this is too big of a DIY for me. Lol also so we're clear you didn't lose your auto folding feature and the best place to wire the puddle light is to the dome light? That's even if my installer wires it.
Thanx for any additional info.....now off to eBay to order.

the black from the ebay order is an obsidian black, which is the metallic black $720 option. You should make sure that is what you have because in the sun, it has a dark brown/bronzish/charcoal effect going on

yeah, i took the easy way out and wired them to my red marker lights that are on the inside of the door panels.
The alternative is to wire it to the rear dome light circuit so they will turn on when you unlock your car. I didnt have the patience to run the wiring through the headliner to the back, and never got a good answer for where the wires run up in the front of the car.

These look awesome! I've always liked the 2010+ mirrors over the 08-09 ones. Is it possible to use the stock bottom cover? I don't really care for the puddle lights.

wow that is really fast shipping. Ordered on Thursday, according to the tracking, will arrive tomorrow, Monday.
I also think these look better than the stock 2010-present mirrors because they dont look as small

I know the mirrors are only $179, but did anyone have scratches on the puddle lamp bottom plastic cover? I am trying to decide whether or not I should just deal with it since its a cheap mod, or if I should email them.

^ Lol, that's some nice support right there. I have not yet ordered it, but in my experience, if it bothers you, it doesn't hurt to send an email. What's the worst thing that can happen, they say no? You're in the same position as you left off then. At best they send you out a new one, but most likely they will give you a credit towards a future purchase from them. Heck, you never know these days with eBay sellers being BIG sticklers on getting 5 star ratings.
I think I might do this mod, it doesn't seem to be that hard to do. I always did like the design of the 2010+ side mirrors. But when I got the 2011 I HATED how they were smaller and mounted lower on the doors, partially obscuring a corner of my view of the passenger side mirror in my seating positon. This seems like the best of both worlds, plus a puddle light!
However, I think I will hold off until someone puts up a DIY on wiring to puddle lights to the dome lights.

The more I look at them the more and more I like them.
It's looks even nicer than the 2010+ OEM mirrors. At less than $200 they are are an excellent bang for your buck.
These aftermarket mirrors, which are modelled after the 2008-2009 mirrors fortunately, are more shapely than the 2010+, which in my opinion are too chunky and blocky looking. Even the black base is more elegantly sculpted.
I can't wait til someone manages to get the puddle lights properly wired.
This is one mod I will do this summer.
