Bye chrome door trim!

Black out tape FTW! Seen Darth post on a thread about black out tape so I went and picked some up. Did exactly what i was looking for. Took my time installing it so I would have the least amount of bubbles possible. All for the cost of about $8 for two rolls which you need. Here is a pic tell me what you think. Taken from my HTC ThunderBolt.

Umm I do not remember the name of the company that made it. But I got it from Pepboys. It's over by the like carbon fiber like wrap stuff. If you ask they should know where to send you. And as for tools all I used was a zacktoe knife and a like plastic ID type thing to push all of the bubbles out.

And I believe it took about 2hrs maybe less. Stopped part way threw for dinner, so I lost track of time. And you will Ned two rolls to cover it all.

Thank you. Yes its a very easy DIY to do and way cheaper then painting it. And I'm sure its cheaper then buying vinyl wrap.

I thought about that but there's chrome when you open the door as well and it seems difficult from what I see.

It looks good. How well do you think it will hold up over time?

exacty, I did plasti dip first did not like it. It was not glossy like the tape. And like u said you can't get the inside when to open the doors. Plus it take way more time to tape off your car and spray like 3 coats of paint, and the tape costs less also.

I think it will hold up good. I have it tucked under all the rubber surroundings so it will be fine.

You can't remove the Chrome trim. Well I mean you can but from what I herd on here that it is very hard to take.off and 90% of the time people end up bending it so then its useless

2013 C300 Sport Black Darth V3.0
It will last years, I have been using the same stuff since the mid 80's. It is called Black Out tape and is made by Trim Brite the pinstripe company usually in the same area of the store. Pep Boys has it but Auto Zone, Aid and Advance don't carry it any longer. Two rolls should do the whole car. BTW looks good.
