thats the diy i used for the fogs, everything worked just fine and was a thorough diy. some complain that it isnt "professional" but i have no problem improvising to save a few bucks, or destroying some of the cars parts. in that thread people talk about an adapter similar to the stock one but holds your hid h7 in the fog light housing.
(mike, you should look into making those and add them to the kits for the mb guys.!!!!)
the lows, i used a 7/8 drill bit to put a hole in the cover, then i had to pull the wires out of the grommet of the kit to put the grommet in since the harnesses were too big to fit in the 7/8 holes. then simply put the bulb in the halogens position, plug red and black wires into the cars harness.(black matches up with single black, red matches up with double black of harness) throw the cover on and mount the ballast and plug all the hid wires together and zip tie up tight. mikes kits do come with a ballast holder that can be mounted to the car to make it look more professional but i didnt want to screw it to anything so i just used zip ties.
For me, I'm thinking about replacing both low beam headlights and fogs (I'll also need to get the eyelid LEDs as well). But the decision I have to make is whether I want to do 35W for both, or 35W for fogs and 55W for low beams.
So my first question is, are there any known issues/problems (similar to "melting fog housing") if/when a 55W is used for low beams?
Second, I assume that as long as they are both the same color temp (5000k), then the difference in wattage will not look too odd, correct?
Thanks again

But on the other hand, 5000k is pure white. What would it wash out to? Not yellow, I hope.

35 watts are bright enough, there even better in my jetta which does not have projectors so it seems to allow the light to shine more surface area but the 35s in the mb lows plus use of the 35w fogs is more then enough to see the road, but ive heard stories of 55watts melting plastic fog light lenses and possibly the housing itself as well as on motorcycles headlight housings. luckily we have hella fogs which have a really good glass lens, but id just be careful with the 55watters.
but honestly i haven't seen in person both 35 and 55 next to each other so i dont know if it is even worth the extra voltage. but i can tell you i have 35 watters on three vehicles, i spent alot of money on one car and a lesser amount of money on the other and the brightness really shows the difference in price, amazingly AZN Optics HIDs were the cheapest and look like my high dollar hids. now well see how long they last.

No need for error cancelling cables or anything anymore. Our new design integrates the error cancelling function into our canbus ballasts for an even easier install
Our package was actually shipped out today so there's an outside chance I might get my HIDs in end of this week, but will depend on customs delays. Just check here or follow us on Facebook for updates
I see your latest batch of HID's is coming in and that is great news
I know this is the w204 forum, but I am going to ask about a kit for my ML350 w164, 2007, I believe it has the H7 Halogens, would like to replace these with your HID kit, I am looking for a white light, not yellow or blueish, I need something so I can see the road at night.
Do you recommend the H7 kit with 35 or 55 watts, and 5000k or 8000k, and I am now reading your new design includes the built in error cancelling function - that is great.
Are the kits still 90 bucks or did they go up in price, and is shipping USPS to Canada ?
I was at the dealership the other day, they have a new improved H7 halogen kit they are selling for 50 bucks Cdn, they claim 80% more light and 30% more visibility on the road, still a 55watt bulb, but it's life expectancy is now 500 hours, the old ones are 900 hours, they are sold as a pair, and I cannot just get them installed to see if there is enough difference to warrant buying them, and so far I have not found anyone who has tried them.
It's a toss up between your kit and or the new bulbs from MB
Appreciate any advice you might have
Cheers
and boy do I miss my C350.......
EDIT - I see it is USPS for shipping,,,sorry about that, I should read more, and speak less....LOL
