... and last (sometimes) almost 1000 miles. Remember, hp goes UP with RPM, engine life goes down. What an F1 engine can and can't make (remember that 30 years ago they were making over 1200 hp with 2.0 Liter turbo engines) is TOTALLY irrelevant to consumer products.

The point was that if a naturally aspirated F1 engine can perform with incredible efficiency, then imagine what benefit a proper intake and valve train design, coupled with even better electronics and then up the RPM ante another 1000 to 7500 RPM... the result would be a 300 HP 3.0L and a 350 HP 3.5L naturally aspirated wonder. Then add a turbo to that. Then add a twin turbo to THAT.

Not to mention another automobile manufacturer in Stuttgart, Germany who makes high performance naturally aspirated H-6 engines that precisely get 450 HP from 3.8L at 7900 RPM whose name begins with Porsche. Oops, there I said it. The "P" word. And these engines are as reliable as anything out there, and so are their cars, most see everyday use and THEN they get to go to the track!

So get with it MB. You are way behind BMW and even further behind your own neighbor. And it is perfectly feasible to inject F1 tech into these old-school MB piston engines and prove that gasoline can still be a viable alternative. Other manufacturers certainly do it. Just look at the upcoming Ford RS500 engine specs. Or MB's "P" word neighbor.
