E Series back seat room vs C series?
Does the E series provide that much more room in the back seat. I haul people around about twice a week. I might need to go for something a little bigger.

Yeah the E has a good amount of leg room compared to that of the C-class. If you're gonna give rides to passengers and care more about keeping you and those passengers comfortable, I'd definitely opt for the E over the C.
And I just sort of chuckled at your calling of the C and E-Class as the E-Series and C-Series :P I know what you meant and it was all in good fun, but it reminded me of the naming system for BMWs.

One of the main reasons I bought a C-Class rather than the E-Class was that I rarely have anyone in the back seat other than kids. Adults in the back seat are pretty tight in the C-Class, but you can make up for it a little by cramming yourself in the front by moving the seats up. That's not a pretty solution IMHO.
If you're driving with adults in the back seat on a regular basis, then I think the E-Class is not an option, it's a necessity.

Same situation here...same finding. Whenever we have a third or fourth person, the E rolls out the door and C stays home. C could do the job, but E is significantly better for rear comfort.

I dont drive with someone behind me because it's not comfortable at 6'1, my E500 with someone behind me was an ok position, not my normal setting but just a lil forward. E class back of front seat also has bigger slots for your knees. Ml is a bigger difference from the E, pretty much dont even have to move your seat forward.

my brother has the E, like everyone said its night and day, that being said as a 6 footer, my sister and anyone in the 5'7 range should fit comfortable in the back seat of the c
but if you put the seat allllllllllll the way back and lowered probably not
also when you go over bumps the rear seat is not comfortable

I find that the C-class has "ample" room in the back seat for smaller adults and children. But the problem is getting in the car. The back seat is much harder to get in an slide across in the c-class than in the e-class. Don't get me wrong though, the e-class still has much more room than the c-class and is much more comfortable in the back seat.
But if your only going to be hauling people around on rare occurrences - the c-class isn't all that bad or un-comfortable. I have my seat in a VERY generous position for myself and people 5'7" or so fit snugly behind me, but like I said, it is a bit difficult getting in and out and I later have to clean some white scuff marks in the interior from shoes. Minor battle wounds - doh!

A lot of factors here. Some 2011 E's only seat two currently in the back. I commonly stuff 3 adults (some good sized ones too) in the back of the W204. I regularly sit in the back when my children visit, and its OK, even for 5 hour trips. I dont even mind sitting in the back of the V12, which has REALLY limited space, let alone the contortions to get in, and then out (even MORE difficult). But thats me, I am only 5'11" and 185 lbs.
If you get an E that still seats 3 in the back, its got ample room (not S class or even current 5-series room though). A big deterrent for purchasing a future E will be not having seating for 3 in the rear.

I drive with my C's driver's seat all the way lowered and almost all the way back and I can barely fit my feet into the footwell..
Definitely go with the E for back seat room...

As far as I could remember comparing between the two, E has about 60mm (around 2.4", which is a lot) more rear leg room, both front adjusted to my sitting position.
