question about the fuses.

i have a question to those who installed aftermarket amps in their cars, i have a JL Cleansweep with my set up so it works with the HU, and the only problem i have is that the cleansweep and the amp dont turn off with the car, i was wondering if anyone could recommend which fuse to use so when i turn off the car the amp shuts off, thanks in advanced.

Isn't your concern a wiring issue?

i dont think so.. because the Cleansweep has a feature called "signal sense" and when the wire is connected to a fuse when power is coming through from that fuse its suppose to come on and its suppose to come off when theres no power, but its just constantly on.

not sure what a cleansweep is but I use (in both my C350s) the last fuse on bottom in the lower left of the trunk fuse panel behind teh right cover. I think its a 5 or maybe 3 amp fuse. Grab a fuse doubler from any auto parts, it lets you piggy back another fuse onto a stock one. If you need pics let me know. I just did my new car a few days ago, works perfect, stays on for a few seconds after car is off then its off too...

no prob. glad to help. u still need a pic of a doubler or did you grab one? If you just jumped it into the prong of the fuse I would suggest using a doubler. theyre a couple bucks and having some type of fuse protects everything, stuff aint cheap and easy on these cars we all know the hard way lol

There s some confusion here, the Cleansweep turns on via signal sensing (e.g. when you either connect for instance an MP 3 player or turn on the cars headunit thereby sensing the signal output) NOT by sensing current draw through the fuse. So forget the fuse, if the Cleansweep is active, it's receiving a SIGNAL.

Here is an aftermarket speaker upgrade thread. This is only about the speakers and subs, not about adding external amplifiers driven by the Cleansweep:
