Kudos to you my friend. I tried but I couldn't figure out how to get the peices apart. Would've save me tons of time.

I have a spare set of halogens available if you would like to open them up.

I don't mind opening them up for you but I am in London
There are a few torx screws bolted from behind the headlight, i cant see how any1 got a good finish by masking up, I also read the reflectors loose the silver finish if even if painters tape is used to mask up

I painted my other ones just fine with masking. Someone posted that you have to put the tape on another surface before you put it on the reflector and it worked for me all except in one spot. I used a hobby knife to be able to cut out the tape exactly where i needed it be. Wasnt too hard.

I'm trying to do this to my xenons. Anyone know how to disconnect the xenon ballasts from the headlights?

Sorry for bumping old thread. Thinking of doing this to my OEM HID lights. Sounds pretty easy enough. As far as putting it back together, is it necessary to use extra sealant? For those that did not use extra sealant, how's it holding up?

Indeed we do. Do you have factory xenon? I'm worried I'm gonna screw mine up. My friend did it on his wrx halogen headlights and came out great.

LJ_24 I have a question for you.
Do you need to have some HID Ballasts to install the MORIMOTO MINI H1 BIXENON or you just connect them to the wiring system from the removed halogen light?

I foun those on ebay but they don't com whit any HID Ballast. So is it possible to install them without the ballast?

The parts you linked are only the projectors -the contraption that regulates the light pattern coming off of the typical HID light kits...

So basically, not only do you need the two ballasts, but you will also need the light bulbs and the wire harness. Meaning you need the whole Morimoto kit ( and also make sure the kit is designed with the Canbus module which is to prevent having the "light bulb out" error from appearing on your dash).

Also, the parts you linked are for H-1 bulbs... (I guess Mini use H-1 bulbs). If you are planning this for a W204 headlights then you're looking at H-7 size bulbs and their associated projectors.

Lastly, projectors are highly recommended when converting from Halogen to HID although many do the conversion without using projectors.

4) After 10 min, pull out of oven and pull clear lens out and away from headlight assy

5) Once your inside there will be some torx screws to take out to pull the chrome assy apart

6) When done with painting repeat above steps in reverse order
Hey there new member in here, at step 5 after removing the 3 screws from the chrome assembly i should be able to just pull the chrome piece out or will there be anything else holding it? because i was having a hard time taking it apart and i didn't wanted to risk breaking it?

I have better pictures coming! These are good for now! I will upload the step by step instructions tomorrow!

Projectors: Morimoto mini H1 projectors with mini gatling gun shrouds! As you can see, they match the original projector thats in the benz, as well fill in the oem halogen slot correctly! Threaded in the rear to make for a flat mounting surface! Projector is from theretrofitsource.com! Ask for Matt, but all the customer service reps are awesome!
Do you have any night shots? I only replaced the Morimoto lens which was a nice upgrade.
