seeking advice from the Almighty forum

Ok Im torn between what my next mods should be, so I'll leave it up to you guys to help me on deciding. Should I:

1) suspension work: H&R super sports, front & rear anti-sway bars, and MBarts front strut bar.

or

2) performance: OBX headers, ECU tune, K&N filers, (possible pulley & HF cats)

Im leaning more towards the suspension work since my car is still stock hight and with my rims it would look sick dropped, but im a junkie for performance so any help would be appreciated

Do Stage 1 for both suspension and perf: springs and ECU. That way you get the (initial) best of both worlds.

Stage 2 would be headers and sways. The rear sway bar is a PITA to swap, but has great results according to those that have done it (Sportstick).

Then again... why limit yourself? Do it all!

^^
I would do that but if I do springs and ECU then when I do the headers I have to do the ECU again to tune out the thrown codes and adjust for the headers being installed. so it would cost more $$ having to tune twice. I would just do it all at once but i have to pay rent lol

Suspension be far. You'll get much more bang for your buck than trying to squeeze out maybe 10-15hp for a stupid amount of money on these NA m272 engines.

My vote goes to choice #1... suspension package

You may even get a discount on labor if you have them installed by the same shop

Lowered cars look great......become creaky.......

I'd do the HP mods....I get that the HP mods are not cheap.....neither are MBZs....

Lowered cars look great.....they can scream of lame car clubs like poised perfection, lowered limos, down to earth, sweet stance, ridiculous rides, absolute amazement....I can go on for days....

HP wins unless you really like SCCA, but I already know you don't, mr speaker box....

Suspension work he mentioned isn't just lowering. Sway bars and strut brace will go a long ways towards tightening up body roll and allow for better performance in real world driving as well as spirited twisty runs and autocross. These cars, although great for what they are, do not have the tight handling you see in say BMWs.

And it's not about being cheap and not being able to afford the HP mod, but we're looking at highest return on investment. You'll end up spending stupid amount of money then be disappointed in just how much power there's available in this engine and wonder why you didn't just get a CPO C63 if you really wanted power. The ONLY way to get any significant power that's even worth a damn out of these engines is to toss in a turbo, but due to limited spacing, you're gonna have to run a remote turbo.

I would love to remote turbo this car and i've talked to my tuner shop about it numerous times and they said they can do it but, im choosing not to b/c this is my daily driver and sacrificing reliability for some extra power isnt smart for me. I plan on getting a c63 after college (in about a years time) so ill have the power which i lack in my current 350 in that car. which is why im leaning more towards the suspension work for now. I just have a gut feeling if i do the performance mods ill end up with +20hp and a car that sounds loud as hell.

Its alot easier to look good than go fast in the non AMG C class. If you look really tight you dont need to go fast to prove it.........
