Win! Matt- I'm in Tampa. Will sand and buff today or tomorrow, wanted to give the paint time to dry.

Hell yeah! Not far at all.. Maybe 2hrs max north of me.. I would love to do my tails like that! Help hook me up! I'm almost done blacking out my car, just need to do the rims, tails, and paint the inside of the head lights.

The tails are pretty easy, you just have to be careful because if you screw up it's a real SOB to sand those *******s down and re-do it. The guy in this video does a pretty decent job (but I like to use clear so I can wetsand and polish)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSKA0ElKg1Q

I'll be opening and painting the headlights soon, maybe this week if I get time, I'm traveling a lot in the next couple weeks tho.

Wetsanding is a complete pain in the ***, that is of course until you see the finished product (before on top, after on bottom)

Actually because I am both lazy and clearly a masochist, I used a 6" random orbit $20 jobby from Advance Auto Parts to do the flat part, and the concave part by hand. and I used nu-polish, which took probably 12 applications when normal polish would've only taken about 3.

But whatever, they're gonna look bad *** when I'm done with them!

Awesome! Did you use VHT Nightshades?

I did my E55 tails years ago, but used automotive tinted clear, wetsanded, polished, etc.. Dont wanna go through that whole ordeal again.

Yeah 3 coats of VHT Nite-Shades, and like 4 coats of clear (so I could wet-sand and not acctidentally chew thru the clear). Really looks beautiful. I focused on the areas that will be visible once the tail trim is on it too, which saves a bit of time and elbow grease.

Sadly it's been a while since I've done this though, I forgot that you're supposed to wetsand back and forth so the circular motion will cut down the linear scratches, I forgot and did circles for the sanding and it took a lot longer to get through all the sanding haze.
