Tail Lamp Monochromania
Tail lamp trims are back from paint and in place. I used toothpicks sticking out of the side vents in the lamp to help with installation alignment, which worked very well.

Thank you, and yes, that's exactly what I was aiming for after seeing a Palladium S Class.
Thank you...all opinions welcome and respected. I had that same opinion of the part when installed in chrome, but painting it bodycolor completely changed it for me in line with the comment directly above.

Agree completely...perhaps the next step, although the disassembly is more challenging! I got the 3M vinyl sample kit and one color is sooooooo close, but off enough not to look right, so paint is probably the right answer.

Thanks, and the diffuser comment is interesting. When the Euroteck diffuser first arrived in CF, we put looked at it held under the car, almost in position, and then also put the car up on the lift, held it in place and looked. The consensus here was that dark CF, and likely even more for a black part, hides much of the contour and surface detail which seems to pop more when painted Palladium, or likely any other of the medium-to-lighter colors MB offers. Perhaps, my eye has been trained by this treatment used on various Bimmers over the years. I didn't see the "eye candy" value in having it almost disappear in the darker tones. This is another of our personal preference choices!

alot of the younger guys like to black out the center bumper and add lips and like the dark diffuser look to make car look more aggressive. I too like the painted match look, did it to both of mine. It gets lost in matte or black, plus your looking at it in picture form standing still. When you walk around the car or see it going by the color match makes it stand out and looks more luxurious. All the high end cars color match those types of pieces, low end manufacturers usually matte black the sideskirts and rear/front of cars for economy, its 2 totally different looks, not everyone is after the aggressive sporty look, luxury is why its a MB after all

I think it looks great! Did the same thing to my taillights in white and I couldn't be happier. No regrets and its been like a solid month. Get a LOT of compliments on my car since. I think that it takes the boring (and IMO ugly) tail lights and gives them much more depth and dresses them up much nicer, making the whole car look pretty good.
