first benz! now what?
so today i'll be picking up my first car that cost me more than 20k. graduated college a few years ago. paid off some bill and decided to get something a little bit nicer. i was a civic and scion tc car owner before so all the maintenance i did on my own. oil changes, fluid changes, brakes, clutch jobs, etc.
but now i know i'm getting into a whole other world with this car. it's a used 2009 c300 sport with 18k miles on it. got it for a great deal. and most of all i found one that was stick shift and had the premium 1 package. anyways with that said. i'm excited and also curious about how everyone maintains their cars. what should i expect as far as costs go? for oil changes, clutch repairs, transmission flushes, etc.

I suggest you lower it....like ALOOOOOOOOOT and paint it black with plastidip and put a new system in it......oh and ddm HID kits.

Haha. Ya I've done a lot of searching today. Haven't even worked at all. Been too excited. But as far as quality of the car ive never driven a more luxurious car. From the test drive it was nothing but awesome.

While it's still under warranty, start looking for a good mechanic; you don't want to use dealer services if you can avoid it. They aren't all going to rip you off, but they aren't going to save you money either. A good mechanic is the difference between, "my 5 year old Benz" and, "my 10 year old Benz".

Congrats on the new ride! Quite a step up isn't it? I drove Hondas and Mazdas before...
My best advice is don't ever do "A and B services", they are a complete rip off! Just get the oil changed every 10-13k miles at the dealer (mine does it for $89) and get other maint. (air filters, etc.) done per maint. intervals in your manual but do it "a la carte" rather than service A and B which are nothing more than a glorified 27 point inspection...which the dealer does anyway with the oil change. It has saved me hundreds of $$$.

so i just got home with it! i love it. i got it for such a great deal!!!
so i was looking at the ipod connection and it doesn't work with my iphone 4. also do i have an aux input? i read on here somewhere that i need to peel back the liner?
ahh. so excited though. i love the amg wheels also.

Check the glove box. It should be looking at you with its one eye when you open it from the driver's seat. That's where mine is on my 2010. You have to turn the volume all the way up on the device plus the stereo too.

oh i'm an idiot. i searched the forums but this time with the right search words. haha. idiot!
anyways. i pulled out the triangle portion between the door and the glove and to my amazement. there i saw the aux that i was looking for.

C300????
Considering buying a 2012 c300
Hello to all, this is my first post on this site. I have done extensive car shopping for the last 2 weeks and I was about to buy a 2011 c300. I started reading and watching videos on the web about the new 2012 Benz coming out in August and I decided to wait 2 months to get the newest and latest safety features that are coming on the 2012. This will be my most expensive car that I've ever purchased and I am worried about the cost of the maintenance. From reading the previous post, I now feel better about not spending so much on those A and B services. I feel I am making a good purchase with this car after all of my research. Is there any comments from other members as to why not to get a c300. I tend to over analyze any financial decisions I make.

heres the night i got her. it took over 2 months to find one with the premium package 1 that was black on black that also had a manual tranny.
