Stealership lives up to there name...

I took my car in for a service and upon picking it up i noticed they left a little Snap On screwdriver in the cup holder... Im thinking "well its mine now" so i opened up the center console to put it away, thats when i noticed my crown royal bag filled with quarters was gone... had to have been about 80 bucks in there. I cant wait to get off this rock and away from Fletcher Jones... i have yet to have even a decent experience with them... yet across the street at Bmw when they service my 5 its always above and beyond. Dealing with FJ makes me want to sale my car just so wont have to deal with those thieving *******s...

Seems a little rich, you kept their screwdriver and complained about them lifting your quarters. BTW, why do you keep 320 quarters in your console?

It'll never happen to me because I don't leave ANY valuables in the car when I take it in for service. Kind of common sense but what do I know

FJ has a bunch of thieves, I serviced my 2002 S430, and they steal the first aid kits that fits under the seats, because MB does not make them anymore. FJ gave me a replacement but it's not the same shape. Furthermore I took it in to replace the Air Suspension and lo and behold the shifter would not work anymore, so my bill went from $1500 to $3000.

Let the dealership know that something was taken from your car. Most likely, you're not the only one who has had things taken from the car and so the dealership, knowing that this is happening, will attempt to find out who's taking things from customers cars.

Forget the whole "stealer ship" aspect and realize that they're a business.. and no business wants to have employees that steal personal belongings from customers.

Technicians get paid by the jobs they accomplish, so thats why this kind of crap happens. They make their own work so they can make more money. If a job calls out that it take 4 hours to accomplish a certain task, and they get it dont in 2 hours, that means they move on to the next vehicle. So the more jobs they get done, the more $$$ they make. And thats why there are shady mechanics who will break things purposely so they can address "what else they found" so they can repair it and make more $$$

I'd agree with the notion to let someone know, like alexlev said, they don't want those lame-o employee's there......if they're stealing from customers, they are more than likely stealing from their employer too.......
but this is another reason I'd love to have some sort of video black box recorder, concealed of course, just in case something did happen, you'd have video to present
as evidence......

The black box is a very good idea, I thought of that too. This delaer is located in Newport Beach CA, and I trusted them 100%, but no more. I told them that I do take out personal stuff cause I know those will be gone, but first aid kits? But their attitude was like "we don't want to deal with it, here is a replacement kit even though it doesn't fit under your seat, we can't help it if MBZ doesn't make them like the original anymore, oh well see ya wouldn't want to be ya." But the most serious was the shifter but I have no way of proving it.

The reason why I watch them is because I've caught them NOT doing what they're supposed to be doing such as wrong oil, etc.. I've worked at several stealerships in sales and trust me the service people most of the time do half of what they say they do. Just a little heads up!

I agree. I hear mechanic brag that they fill customer car with regular oil when customer pay for synthetic and they keep the synthetic for themselves.
