Beside lower the car, the AMG pack give you the "Sport" (not "S") button. This will "stiffen" the ride for more sporty feeling. No power gain from the base model though...

Key difference from American models I think is it has COMAND APS Online however since I have an iPhone 4, it's not compatible with data tethering!
Hi, JaCe88
What do you think of the Comand navigation? Is it accurate in Australia? I've heard it can give you some funny instructions?
I have iPhone 4 as well, sounds like I need to borrow wife's SE X10.
However, can you upload music to the 10Gb music registry from your iPhone?
Nice to know you can read Chinese characters on the screen, wife will be very pleased, she has a collection of Chinese songs.

Not differently shaped, but every part is adjustable.

I couldnt find much online about it, the sales man also didnt know what it exactly was, he told me that you could only adjust the back.

But i ordered it to see what it was, because the seats of my prev. W204 werent that good for me, to big for small persons.

But you can adjust everything:
the thigh cushion
the backrest contour in the lumbar region
the backrest contour in the upper back region
the side bolsters of the seat backrest

They feel like sport seats and gives much support.

Sounds great! Founds them on the Australian MB website. Are they automatic or manual control? Memory setting?

It's accurate in Australia BUT my biggest gripe is with the map data being out of date. Considering it's a June 2011 delivered car, the M4 became toll free more than a year and a half ago yet the COMAND system always diverts me off it.

Music registry copies MP3's off your USB drive or memory card (i.e. SD). Doesn't work off iPhone/iPods.

Finally, iPhone4 works well for phone book access but it can't read SMS or use internet. I ended up getting a Blackberry Bold 9900 from work the other day and am using that to connect to internet- but it's still kinda slow and more of a novelty than anything else since traffic congestion data is via SUNA.

Sounds like I need to keep my TomTom, not so worried about SMS and phonebook, I usually pullover to do answer/call/sms.
Does COMAND come with SUNA or that's some sort of service I have to subscribed to?

Any other Australians with the facelift version and Pano roof have any comments over the cloth cover for the pano?

My impression was (test drove on a sunny day) that it would not block out much sun and could mean that it'd get quite hot in summer.

I had a similar feeling too because I test drove a car with that roof, but that being said, I'd happily settle for it because it looks epic. But not worth the $$.

In hindsight, I am debating whether I should've gone for the COMFORT PACK to get heated, memory, fully electric seats, mirror dipping on reverse, and smart key access.

If not worried about SMS/phonebook, then just use the MB system which works pretty well. I like how it can also display caller ID information (including names) on both inbound and outbound calls on the in-dash display as well as the centre console COMAND screen. Also supports Chinese.

As for SUNA, all MB in Australia come with it for life > http://telematicsnews.info/2011/02/2...ematics_f2231/

As people are PM-ing me to ask, my 2011 Australian delivered C250 CDI is made in Sindelfingen, Germany (as it has an "A" in the VIN).

It works with air, with 4 buttons to control. I dont have memory option on my car.

Note that to move seat front/back you need to manually pull the lever. I find it amazing that four different people have all commented "shouldn't that be standard?" and it makes me wonder if maybe I should've optioned it up more =_=

2010 Calcite C300 with AMG Sports Package
I bought a C300 just on 12 months ago - Avantgarde and optioned it AMG Sports Package (950) as well as the Dynamic Handling Package (483). From a performance point of view when you engage the sport mode (ie Sport Button on dash) you notice a discernable change in acceleration ('jumps' off the line better, more responsive, holds the gear longer ) as well as a firmer ride. The exhaust also sounds sportier. Great vehicle. The only regeret is, I didn't wait for the 'face lift' model - the interior upgrade is great.

Just curious, how long did you have to wait for the delivery? AMG pack + Dynamic handling sounds like best of both worlds, firm when you need it and comfort when you don't. Just hope I can nail the dealer to have some discount when optioned both packs.

Did you pay on delivery/pick up or when you signed? For my "price", the dealer said I had to fully settle before the end of the day on 30 June.

They always say that... On 30th they told me a price and have to settle on that day to get the EOF sales. I come back the next day, and he gave me the same price

You can no longer transfer MP3s to the music register on US models
Looks like the RIAA gestapo got to MB.

Comand Online can be enabled from the Engineering Menu (takes 30 seconds) but I could not find an option to fix the music register It will only save songs from MUSIC CDs, not even MP3 CDs

I know for me it was a real PITA organising the price because I was also ordering the corporate package and had to provide a business card as well. I think there was a sale or something on until EOFY for the safety pack that I ordered as well (Driver Assistance Plus Package).

As for the music register, I'm surprised that you guys can't copy music to the hard drive. Is that from USB or SD card?

Both. The *only* way that you can copy music is from an actual music CD, not even an MP3 CD will work. This is a new "feature" starting in either 2011 or 2012.

JaCe, can you confirm this on the facelift model? I just have a look at mine this morning (pre facelift) and its actually the same as what acr2001 said...

I copied mp3s off an SD card inserted into the dash- there's an option to "Copy to Music Register" when browsing music/photos/etc on the SD (presumably same for USB drive). I'll try and take some screenshots tonight (if I remember).

I just checked it out a second time, and no good. It is not an option and cannot be done on a 2012 US C class. There is another thread that confirms this.

You have a CDI so I assume you are outside the US? That would explain it.
