Honda Accord EX-L versus Mercedes Benz C300 Sport

I have to agree with the above. I have to say I think the TSX would be the best of both worlds for you. Has a good amount of features/options that are of luxury quality while maintaining Honda quality/service. Handles pretty well and is pretty quick off the line for a DD.

I don't know why you guys are all saying that the Honda maintenance is much less than Mercedes. Do you actually own a Honda and have you every taken it to the dealer consistently for their "recommended". My girlfriend has an accord and her bill can get just as high as mine, and she needs to go in for service twice as often...
Also, you definitely can have the services done either by yourself or at an indy. Heck, even if you just get the oil changes at the dealer its only $75 every 10k miles.

Wow, is it really time to pull our pants down and take the rulers out AGAIN?
I really hate it when these threads turn down this road.
OP, don't be fooled. I've gotten more thumbs up from guys than girls in the short time I've been driving Benzes. Unless, of course, that is your cup of tea. lol.
Good luck on your purchase! Don't pay sticker!

I wouldn't think that a girl would date you just because of your car. Think of it as a bonus. All other things being equal, the guy with the better car wins. Same thing with other non-character traits - same guy, but one dresses nice and one dresses like he's still in high school, who do you choose? Obviously other things come into play first like personality, compatibility, etc.

As far as Acura goes. My father used to have a (around 2005) TL and he needed to have the transmission replaced with minimal mileage (50-60k). Acura quality hasn't yet convinced me, and couple my experience with the person's above and I think that there is something to be said about their issues with transmissions. Honda's have been renowned for quality, but when it comes to the "Premium Honda" Acura, it seems reliability has taken a back seat?

Honda - or ANY other japanese car for that matter - could never match the build quality of a fine european " German " sedan like the merc. I hate the thought of putting sooo many miles so soon on your new car but thats life, I guess. I baby my cars and my old Honda used to break down every 35,000 miles like clockwork. 'Jap cars are built using the old engineering rule of thumb: Don't overbuild something when you can build it cheeply enough to get the job done! I owned my Honda for ten years and went through 5 brake jobs - not including disc resurfacing - 2 radiators, 2 clutches, 1 water pump, timing belt, cv joints twice, door latch and attachment point, 2 sunroof motors and rusted oem mufflers twice. I'll NEVER drive japanese again; luxury or otherwise!!! Just a little food for thought. Hope this helps make up your mind.

Wait til you own a german car for 10 yrs then compare the repair bills between your old Honda and the german counterpart..

Agreed
The envious looks

If driving a Mercedes is something you have always wanted than I say go ahead and scratch the itch . The Honda probably is more sensible , but what matters is not having regret your decision everyday on your way to work . I say get the car satisfies you the most . Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Holy mother of all thread resurrections...
With over 8 years on my C300, I am only at $2925 (not including mods) for maintenance and repair. Actually turning into the best car I've ever owned...which is why I'm still driving it.
