Rant: The demise of human decency
So I was driving along on a busy road today in the downtown area of San Francisco. To those who are in the area, Bush street by Mason/Powell. All of a sudden I hear a huge thud, and as I look at my rear view mirror, I catch a glimpse of something on the street. It was a f#&%ing garbage bag that came flying down from an apartment complex and hit my trunk lid. The thing made a pretty big thud, and it was perfect timing too because I was going like 30mph. This was a busy 3 lane, one way street and so I had no time to stop. I pull over at the next available parking opening half a block down and see people pointing up at the apartment complex.
Thank god no dent on my car, just some greasy ***** that the bag must have been leaking. I had no choice but to leave and chuck it up to bad luck. But seriously, who throws a garbage bag out the window. Also thank god that it wasnt filled with glass bottles or something.
I am sad and afraid for the future of human kind

wow thats ridiculous, some people have no common sense or self respect, also you must be pretty damn lazy to just throw a trash bag out the window, i mean come on it takes like 2 minutes to just dispose of it properly. glad to hear you and your car are ok though.

I am in the Bay Area about 60 miles away from SF. I do not like that nasty city at all. In certain area, road condition is bad, lots of ups and downs, lots of one-ways, hard to find a free parking spot, gun shots (from news), dirty buildings, etc.

This is why I hate driving in SF city when I was living up in the bay a couple years ago. Not only has the place gone to sht, but it's chock full of pedestrian tourists who are too busy looking up at the scenery than pay attention to their surroundings and tourist drivers who are too busy looking at maps than pay attention driving. Now I gotta worry about flying garbage!

I'm amazed at your ability to stay calm and carry on.
If I were you I'd have found the ****ers who did it and taken it up with their landlord...
Better yet, knock on their door and spill all that nasty **** on their door mat

I'm in SF and I never ever drive to Downtown and Chinatown. Its mayhem down there. People J-Walk like its normal, cross on red lights, to many bicycles that weave through traffic and random people that throw garbage bags out their windows...
I'm in the Inner Sunset..where SF life is on EZ Mode.

Refugees from Somalia and the Sudan do this all the time in the old neighborhoods of Manchester, NH. the retired folks there are terrified. Thank you One Worlders.

Sounds like NYC in the 70's. I was in SF in the early 90's for some training and found it to be a nice place. Though the only driving I really did was to and from the airport.
