C250CDI FUEL FILTER

Hi,
Does anybody know how to bleed water from the diesel fuel filter on a 2010 C250? I've looked on WIS but my fuel filter does not have the water bleed screw they show. Filter is located on top of engine, 2 pipes in/out and an electrical connector block.

I have looked at my Wis for the 220CDI . It mentions 'loosening' a screw at the water separator & turning on the ignition to bleed the system with the fuel p/p running. Bleed into suitable container until fuel is clear.

Might be best to replace the filter with a new one.

Are you doing preventative maintenance or have you water in the system. ?

Carsy,
Thanks for the reply. I suspect there may be water in fuel after other reports regarding local filling station. Just want to check. I too looked at the WIS and got a picture of the fuel filter. However mine is not like the one shown - there is no bleed screw on mine. unlike the one shown. Perhaps they have eliminated it on later models?

Anybody know how the dealers do it?

Some are fitted with a water seperator (if it has wires running from the filter) and some don't. If it has a seperator then it will show on the dash if there is water in the fuel, if it doesn't have a seperator then there is no bleed point on the filter.
