A late: My new car!

Hi everyone,

A while back I had been discussing my desire for an 08 C300 4MATIC as my first car. Well about 20 days ago I got one!!

It is Iridium Silver on MB Tex black, 4MATIC, Panoramic roof, Premium 2, and Multimedia Package. I never thought I would own one so loaded, Xenons It was a one owner car (not even a lease, bought out right), it has all the books, keys, records, even the sticker and I bought it from a private used car dealer. It is still under the 50,000 warranty. Some of you may have seen my posts about the car regarding completing the tool kit and some warranty repairs.

I just want to give a late thank you to all of you for all of your input and help, this is a great forum! I will be here for years to come (hopefully) discussing my car!

I have already purchased the $139 facelift mirrors off eBay and will be installing those shortly thanks to blue's DIY.

Next on the agenda is blacking out the housings and the grill (leave the chrome on the grill). Now that I actually have the car I don't want to permanently modify anything that I can't undo, so I will be keeping the original headlights the same and buying some used (maybe damaged-repaired) xenon housings off eBay or somewhere and painting those. Same thing with the grill. If anyone knows any of these items for sale on here please PM me.

Does anyone know if removing the Xenons is harder the the regular halogens?

I would also someday like to get a hold of the new 2012 front bumper and install the new LEDs, as well as the new taillights. With blacked out housings, the new 2012 front bumper with LEDs and the new tailights, I am almost prefer the looks to the new 2012 C-Class.

Heres a picture of its first fill up!

BTW, I am hoping to change my username to something more Benz oriented, so don't think I disappeared.

Cheers!

Conner

Sounds nice. Mine is Iridium Silver, too and I just got the windows tinted - WOW, does it make a diff. Love your idea about the grill. I'm still trying to talk my wife into letting me do the same thing but shes not going for it...Woman, right! I'm also wanting do do the front bumper but am going to wait for the new c63 grill look to eventualy come out for our model type. I'm talking about the one that has the blacked-out center section and only side splitters are body colored! Plz post some pics when you do the grill, though. Good luck and nice car.

Nice looking C! Is the plastic dip easily removable?

Nice! Luckily mine came with tints which I really like, I don't know what they are exactly, but they're not really dark, just to where you can barely see the inside, which I love.

I will definitely post pics once I get the grill, not sure though how long off it will be.

The C63 grill sounds nice, are you talking about the 2012 C63?

Yes...almost too easy. When this starts to peel I will probrably just have a buddy who does paint do that and clear it. I was not impressed with the coverage I got. It's almost too "rubbery" and easy to peel away. good for broad areas but bad for small.

Sorry to be off topic, but just so everyone knows who I am, I changed my user name to LandSeaAir, the meaning behind the Benz star, I updated my profile for a long stay! I must say I am a member at Benzworld as well, but have found this is a much more active forum.

Even more off topic - anyone else without power right now? we have my kitchen appliances, water pump, the kitchen lights and the internet modem hooked up to a generator, all I need for survival Thanks Irene....

Good luck bud. Glad to hear you're safe. It rains all summer here in Central Florida, so all Irene did for us was bring us a bit of a strong breeze.
