Nice. Only panels or going to attack seats and headliner as well?

I don't know if I'm going to do the headliner also or not...

I am going to do the inserts in the seats though...I was think of getting the Mercedes symbol and underneath it C350 embroidered on the top panel of the front backs, but I'm not sure I want to do that or not yet...

here's the driver's rear door panel...one down three to go...

btw, don't mind my crappy iphone pics...I'll take some better ones when I get my camera back...I loaned my Nikon D80 to a friend for a wedding...

make sure u dynamat the trunk lid and also the vents in the corner of the trunk, u may have to get underneath the wheel well to get at them. I had the rattle problem in my 08 and my 11 I ended up doing both. U may not be too bad w just one sub, but w 2 10s and now 2 12s in new car it was really bad, sounded so nice inside but was a rattletrap on the outside. Loods good, u gonna leave the armrest or do those too?

you talking about these vents? yeah I planned on fatmatting everything in the trunk...and behind all the door panels...the door panels are off right now for the suede install, but they'll have to come back off for the stereo install...I was gonna wait to do it all at one time, but I couldn't wait any longer lol

Nice work! Did you use some sort of spray adhesive for this project?

Thanks for the compliments guys. Wait until you see my seats once the inserts are suede.

I did use an adhesive. It's a contact adhesive that we use for vinyl tops. You can look it up under landau top adhesive. There's some good stuff made by Welwood but the new stuff I have holds better. I'm not sure who the new stuff is made by.

I prep the door by first taping everything that's not gonna be covered. Then I take 100 grit sandpaper and sand the area that's gonna be covered real good. Then I clean that area with a clean rag and SEM Solve. And then it's ready to cover. Sanding gives the adhesive more surface area to adhere to and the SEM Solve gets rid of the debris, oils, and impurities that might be on the surface. It makes the surface to where it has the most adhesion. Lacquer thinner and mineral spirits will actually pull oils and impurities from inside the vinyl and leather to the surface and make it worse. Don't use lacquer thinner or mineral spirits on upholstery. It's not good in any way.

I say you throw some suede on the dash, you can see it on this car:

That's too much if you ask me. I like a more subtle clean look. I want to make it look like MB did it to the car.

I'm debating on whether to get the Mercedes symbol and underneath it 'C350' on the upper panel on the front backrests. I think it might be too much.

Thanks for the compliment and No problem. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some time to do the passenger side door panels.
