Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus

Got Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. It is great tire in compare to stock Michelins. I was between Conti DWS and PS A/S Plus, finally decided to get Pilots and it was a wise choice. I have 17" and I was afraid that DWS might be too soft for me. Even A/S Plus are softer than stock tires, but they handle well and car feels much better than before. Wet and dry traction is excellent. I have a little tire noise, but when they settle a bit the tire noise should go away. I highly recommend this tires for C class, great choice, expecially for 17" wheels.

I agree.
Just put the same tires on 1 my cars (IS350, 18") I think they are good all around tire.
Much better ride than the Bridgestone’s that came on the car. Hopefully they will last longer.

Agree completely, would buy them again, and they do quiet down after initial break-in. I would have an alternate plan for your next D.C. snowstorm!

Compared to the OE Contis, the concept of day versus night works well.

The Super Sports are in a different category...Max Performance Summer. If you are in above 45 degree F weather, they are superior in all ways, as Michelin intends them to be. But, for a wider variety of environments, the (Ultra High Performance All Season) Pilot Sport A/S Plus is about the best of its kind.

SuperSports are excellent in the wet, just not too cold and wet.

Tire noise from Michelins will always be there. The Michelin Primacy HP are even noisier. The Contis are quieter, however more susceptible to sidewall damage from potholes.

I only agree with the Primacy.

PS2's & A/S plus are very quiet tyres on a Benz.

Conti Sport Contact 2 & 3 are some of the noisiest most crap tyres you can fit to a 203 or 204 chassis. The Conti DWS on the other hand works well.

Tyre noise is chassis dependent.

Completely agree. Tires must evaluated by model. Overall brand statements are too broad to be accurate in all cases.

Indeed. W203 & 204 have harder bushings as an example than other Benz models to make handling closer to the 3 Series. Even though these were softened by 22 to 56% by 2005 & 204 continues at the softer spec they are still hard compared with an S Class. A tyre that is quiet in the cabin of an S Class will be noisy in a C Class because the block/airpump or whatever noise is transmitted via the suspension to the shell & cabin.

My service manager who is a really good guy & believes when you buy a Benz from them you own a few bricks in the building set about evaluating tyres on our market because he was tired of noise complaints. Findings = quietest tyres on 203/204

Michelin PS2 (not PS1 - as it is directional & can't be rotated to change direction of rotation)

I have Super Sports on my M3 and very happy, noise disappeared after 500 miles. Before I had contis, they were harder and did not handle well. I am extremely happy with A/S on MB, this tire fits MB suspension best and car is really fun to drive now. I also had Contis DW on my other cars 17", they are okay tires, sidewall is too soft and I would have chosen Michelin instead, but contis were cheap.

My new Michelin HP Primacys can be heard at low speed on a smooth surface but certainly no louder that theOEM poor quality Bridgestone Turanza ER300.

It is a deep ( low pitch) noise which is not annoying. Rather goes well with the deep rumble of the diesel engine.
