2012 C250 Sport Sedan
Anyone driven a new 2012 C250 Sport Sedan yet?
Anyone see one with the 18” AMG 7 spoke or 5 spoke wheels?
I currently have a ’09 C300 Sport I am considering trading in.
Thanks!

i test drove the coupe, and i wouldnt trade in my c300 for it. its accelleration was extremely laggy from a starting point (which i thought would be better with the torque that the car has). suspension was a bit to stiff for my comfort but that might just be the coupe.
but since the engine and drivetrain in the coupe and sedan, i would steer clear!

I drove a C250 coupe last night and was quite impressed. I thought the acceleration from the 4cyl engine was more that adequate. I'm probably going to trade my 08 C300 4M for the C250 sedan. Should get better mileage. The new interior is very nice.

I drove the C 250 CDI Coupe & it was amazingly powerful & torquey with a great handling/ride balance. Runs on the sniff of a diesel rag.
You are greatly mising out not having these great diesels in your country.

Agreed. I test drove back to back the diesel and petrol, and whilst the petrol was smooth and a bit more gutsy for a 1.8L engine than you'd expect, the diesel was significantly faster and more 'in your face'. That being said it wasn't as smooth/gradual in acceleration (with the push back in the seat acceleration).

I test drove one last night. It had the 18" amg wheels and flat bottom steering wheel. I didn't feel any lag from the start. Acceleration was quicker than C300 but gear shifting was not smooth at all. It was also a little noisier than C300.

I haven't driven the sedan...but if it's anything like the C250 coupe I would steer clear of it. The coupe has a significant amount of lag from a dead stop and shifts are not smooth at all. Acceleration is probably on par with my C300. The styling and new interior aren't enough to compensate for the lag and jerky shifts

Just by driving it you can tell a BIG difference between the 2. My current C300 is very responsive off the line, accelerates well and shifts are very smooth. The c250 has a good amount of lag from a dead start and when the engine shifts it literally jerks the car back and forth. Acceleration seemed to be on par with my C300...but the C300 wins everywhere else

Thanks. Turbo lag definitely makes sense. I'm a bit surprised about the jerky shifting though. I'd expect a company like MB to figure this out. Maybe they'll come up with updated software for it...

I just took delivery of a 2012 C250 Coupe last week in Germany. I drove it about 870 miles in Europe. Here are my impressions and some pics: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-c...elivery-2.html
Did you guys have the C250 in Sport mode? I felt that there is some lack of responsiveness if it's in "E", but it's more than adequate in Sport b/c the car holds the revs higher. There is no discernible turbo lag though. The shifting of the 7G-Tronic+ was great--I never felt that it was jerky.
I took it up to 140mph on the autobahn while keeping the revs below 4,000rpm and not more than half throttle. I think it has ample power for what it is. Let's face it, any non-AMG C-Class won't be the fastest thing on the road. I have two 500+hp cars that I can use for more sporty occasions.
And for the OP, I have the 18" AMG's on it.

I got the new C250 Sport Sedan to replace my 2010 C300 Sport Sedan. The turbo engine is very responsive. I step on the gas the rpm go over 3000 right the way. There is no notable turbo lag. The down side is the turbo is not as smooth as the V6. It is basically too sporty for regular drive. I drove BMW 3 series and this time C250 behave very much like the 328 in sport mode. It talk time to get use to the behavior and achieve a smooth ride.
There are new features that worth to consider buying the new C. Like attention assist, Blind spot assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Rear view camera, Keykess-go, new navigation system has more function, Bluetooth audio streaming. I got them all and the car is actually cheaper than the C300 I had b4.

I noticed that during the first 1000 miles, the shifts didn't feel very smooth, but it looks like it has improved by now.
The only thing I don't like about the C250 is the single exhaust. Doesn't make any noise at all (C300 made some noise) and it looks kind of weird and asymmetrical as well.
Overall, I would say that the C250 is definitely a better car than the C300.
