Floor mats, not
So, I went to my dealer's parts counter and ordered a new set of four in Cashmere Beige (can't buy them by the each) for the paltry sum of about $130. In a few days they arrived from the Los Angeles MB parts warehouse and I took them home without opening the bag. When I did open it, they didn't match the originals. My car's seats are beige leather along with the upper door panels and the lower door panels and the carpeting are a darker beige along with the upper dashboard. The new mats match the seats and not the floor carpeting which is a no-go.
So I went back for a reorder and when we looked at the back of a mat accidently, there was a label with a part number which corresponded to the E-Class coupe. The OE mats each has it's own 204 part number. So it looked like the right bag with the wrong contents, not an unknown error at MB.
They placed another order and when it arrived the next day, same thing. So a "manual inquiry" was made and the answer was that the old 204 part number subbed to the new one for the E coupe. Even though the color was wrong which made no difference to them. A brush-off and a dead end as far as MB parts are concerned.
So the dealer is stuck with two sets of mats and I walked out with a refund.
I still need new mats.
