C250 Coupe unveiling
A couple weeks ago, I went to a new owner reception hosted by my MB dealership (impressive: open bar, lots of food including a chef-run pasta station, gifts, and raffles) and they ended the night by unveiling the 2012 C250 coupe and M Class SUV.
Took a few pictures of the car (phone camera, so pardon the quality) and thought I'd share it here. I'll be going back to the dealership to pick up a Formula 1 model car I ordered, and I will get a chance to test drive the coupe (review to follow).
The coupe did not have the lighting package, but it didn't look bad at all in person. Also, it had the paddle shifters, which I really wish I had in my car. The backseat was okay, a little less room than the already tight space in my 4-door C-Class, but I guess that is to be expected. If you buy a car with a light-colored interior, prepare to have tons of scuff marks on the seats from people getting in and coming out. The tail lights are awesome. And, as mentioned before, the USB and iPod connector is now in the center console.

I liked the color, but as I mentioned in my original post, it's going to be a scuff-mark magnet with people getting in and out of the rear seat. With the weather being like it is in Florida, having dark seats (good as it looks) sucks during the hot months (read: 9 months of the year) even with a nice tint. I speak from personal experience. lol

Interior color
"The brown/beige interior does nothing for the car! In fact, it is for US only, as europeans do not like this at all."
I have this same color interior in leather in my '08 and it is much nicer than the usual black tex.
The other day I built myself a 2012 C350 (not buying one, just window shopping) similarly equipped to my own car and when I selected the beige leather interior, the only things that are beige are the seats and part of the door panels. Everything else is black. The dash and steering wheel, the headliner and the carpeting. The only way to get the color matched interior is to select Tex. I may have to give up leather in the planned 2014 W205 if MB doesn't start asking buyers what they really want.
This reminds me of back when I was custom ordering my car in 2007. I would have bought a C350 except for the mandatory black interior.

Try the german configurator.

Hit "weiter" a couple of times until you get to the interior and then select "leder saharabeige".
The picture clearly shows beige seats and door panels, but everything else is black.
This is a vey nice combo - far away from brown/beige.

Exactly my point. Beige or light seats are great, as long as dashboard, steering wheel, upper door sides are black.
Try the german configurator.
....BIG SNIP....

I'm not buying that Germans are the taste arbiters of the world (far from it) after all the blue cars they built with red interiors.

I notice that the white C250 Coupe (love it except for the engine) has the beige/light brown Tex interior just like the C350 coupe my dealer has on the floor right now.
I wondered at the time why it didn't have leather but now I get it since leather (my choice) would be the forced black/beige combination.
These cars must be the launch models possibly configured by MBUSA since they have no optional equipment all to keep the price shock to a minimum.

After living in Europe for the past seven years, I would take that European don't like it as a compliment. Considering the fact that Europe is a eyesore for anything fashionable with a lack of class.

It's more than adequate to let us know you don't care for it with adding the last sentence ad hominem attack on Europeans. We don't need a sparring match now pointing out low points of North American taste, so please, anyone in Europe reading the above post, don't engage with him in this behavior.

I don't care from where you originate, reside, or what is your status. Insulting remarks to/about people are unnecessary and unacceptable from anyone to anyone. They are neither "cool" nor will they be tolerated. Please proceed accordingly if you wish to remain with us.

Everyone has an opinion RLE - I appreciate black interior and have it in every car in my garage - although, I did see "almost white seats" in a couple C63 pics and it is absolutely stunning...
As far as not ordering a car with 17% more horsepower and torque because the interior color was not your first choice, I guess the same can be said as far as everyone having an opinion...I will take the black interior with the added performance please...cheers!
