Scoops for C-300 w204
I was wondering if anyone could give me some information on where and which (non plastic/aftermarket) scoops to purchase for my 2011 c-300? i just got my drop in air filter and would like to add the scoops with it asap. Thanks!

if your looking for hood scoops you know that requires cutting your stock hood? might be a smarter move getting a vented hood if you wanna go that rout. or maybe your talking about filter cones? kinda like a heat shield for your filters?

yea what your saying about the hood scoops make sense due to the fact there are not any currently there. so your saying replace the stock hood with a vented one that would probably run me about $200-300 roughly just for the hood. correct?

sorry i should have specified. for the new vented hood*

I you're talking about intake scoops right? Like these? If so, there are none for w204s yet.

Dont bother. U wont get even 1 hp gain from that mod, u will probably lose HP if you put a cone filter aka cold intake kit on it. Spend ur money elsewhere on the car

Not a hood scoop. It basically extends the mini scoops that are already on the ram air tray behind your grill to try and force more air in.

I'm confused on how these would secure. I'm pretty sure the stock setup already reaches the stock grille. Would this attach to the bottom of the grille, forcing air upwards to the stock openings, forcing more air from the grille air into engine? I can see this being helpful for power, but that would mean that less air is getting into the engine compartment (actually, almost no air now...) this could make the engine run hotter I would imagine, and possibly negate any benefit and possibly even degrade performance?

oh and then whhen I go buy all that it assembles itself? I asked how i would go about learning how to do it. jerkoff. yea for 5 horsepower sure, also for air flow and cause I wouldnt pay to get it installed. why are you even commenting on my thread when "you need to get back to work"? arrogant *****

Lmao OP. With that kind of attitude, consider this thread dead.
Little baby, just learned how to use cuss words? Y U MAD?
Next time, ask nicely. Not many people will be up at 5 a.m. EST to respond to your questions about fabricating an intake scoop. I'm sure blue00r6 could have explained in further detail or pointed you in the right direction to figure out how to make one if you were actually interested, not just flaming in the middle of the night. Lulz.

This whole crackbrained idea was faulty to begin with and the idea of lowering the air intake with some idea of "forcing" more air in is another one. What it would do is increase the possibility of inhaling water which is the kiss of death for the engine.
Seems to me that MB has spent a great deal of engineering money to design the most efficient intake system and changing it with a box of Pep Boys parts is a step backwards.
