New C250 owner
Hey guys, I got a 2012 C250 a week ago. It's Iridium silver on ash with wood. It's my first MB so I'm still learning about them, I'm a nissan guy so give me a little time to catch up. Anyways since they dont have the manual option I was stuck with getting the auto but I actually like it, plus my G37S is manual so I wont miss the manual feeling! Does anyone know if there are any catless DPs and any type of tunes for this car? Here are some picture btw.

love the new C! There should be an ECU tune for the new turbo Benz eventually. I'm curious to see what's available. I traded my C350 for a GTI a few months back and just learned about the world of tuning. This 250 would be awesome tuned to about 270hp if possible.

The catalist is pretty much replaced by a straight pipe, it reduces
exhaust pressure and adds power.
Yea it would be really sweet! You should hit up APR for a chip, and get a catless downpipe! Is it a mark 6 btw?

Congrats on the new ride. Exhaust and tune should be your friend. Only time will tell how long it will be before someone tears into that thing though. Good thing is that boosted cars are easy to make power with.

Welcome! Nice pair of cars!!
My quick/early opinions on the 2012s...
Likes: 1. Turbo - someone WILL undoubtedly come out with an ECU flash; best bang for the buck mod for boosted cars, 2. Dark headlight housings on non-AMG cars, 3. LED DRLs.
Dislikes: 1. No 6MT (right?), 2. Interior got very "busy" - more chrome, weird steering wheel and vents, shoulda kept the pop up screen, 3. Projectors went away in lieu of reflectors.
PS is that really you driftng the G on what looks like a mountain/canyon road?!?!

Pretty sure you're gonna have to cut the cats out and weld in piping. There are many companies that do ecu tuning, not sure which ones do your vehicle though.

Well, I'm going to let the car break in still, since it only has about 270 miles on it, hopefully by then someone will create a DP!

GLC250 Coupe
ahh.. thanks for the info. Wont taking the cat out be illegal in some states or countries as they do not help treat the poisonous gases?
I know there are some sport cat and mufflers for the car already in the market.
As for ECU tuning, have a look at some piggyback boxes that remap the ECU map in real time. Getting one from RaceChip. (once its here. i'll write a review about it after some testing)
Also, you can go for a twin exhaust, pretty much like the C350s or a quad tip option with OEM C63 diffusers. That should reduce the back pressure from the stock exhaust system.
I'm getting my exhaust cut and modified to a quad tip version this Wednesday, but i'm not touching the cat though. Its against local regulation here to remove them..

Before 2012 a C class wasnt offered with a turbo 4 or a 4 at all. 08 to 11 where either a 3.0L M272 (engine code) v6 making about 220hp that in the us you could get in 4matic (merecedes awd/4wd system) or you could get a RWD only C350 with a 3.5L M272 V6 Making 260ish hp. Now you can only get the 3.0L in a 4 matic its the only old V6 M262 powered car. The 1.8 Turbo rwd is a new to the US model line engine, and the C350 has a new direct injection V6 which gives it 300HP now and has no balance shafts with its new 60 degree design.. So quite a bit has changed on them beyond the facelift.

Nice car!! Congrats!
I have a 200cell sports cat on my CGI , 180/200/250 have the same cat.
Its bolt on and it also includes a straight pipe till the mid silencer. You dont need to cut or weld.
Ecu tuning isnt available!
You have to do it with a tuning box.

congrats on the new car. cant wait to see some mods for it. catless DP/test pipes, FMIC, intakes, injectors, and ECU will be sooooo nasty!

Oh yea, it already has a pretty big FMIC tho, don't think that will to be changed, unless you decide to run an aftermarket turbo Oh btw does anyone know if they make any aftermarket LSDs for this car? Mechanical or clutch type.

I have been APR Stage I for a month now. LOVE IT!!!! It is a 2011 MK6, great little car! I miss my RWD C350 a bit though...there is just something about the car pushing you rather than the pulling you feeling of FWD. It should be better for the midwest winters. My C350 was like a sled when we got more than 3-4" of snow.

Well the C feels a lot more "chill" in a sense, more relaxed. I like the little touches they put into it, like the lane change blinker thing, and how nicely the music turns off when you turn the car off. It just feels more relaxing. The G is more of a drivers car on the other hand, when going hard into corners the G feels a lot more confident and it really does corner a good amount better. It comes with a LSD so that helps and the steering is very fast and precise, the C class' feels somewhat numb after it. The straight line speed is a big difference but I'm still suprised how good the C picks up for a 201 hp 4 cylinder, its very quick. I'm sure straight line speed wont be a problem with a C350 tho. I also love how Infiniti throws in so many features, for example, keyless go is standard, HIDs are standard, for the 6MT the rear camera, Bose audio, heated seats are all standard. At the end of the day, the C class is just very enjoyable because of the relaxing feeling, while the G has its power and handling to satisfy the driver. In both cases tho, little modifications and change of options will give either car a sporty or relaxed feel, depends on what the buyer wants. There are also reports that Infiniti and Mercedes are going to work together and share parts for the next generation C and G, wonder how that's going to turn out!

....this is an old thread (and I'm a new guy)........
I just completed a round trip - Sacramento to Monterey - on a single tank. 443 miles on 12.7 gallons of 91 octane. So:
1. It's a gorgeous car! (subjective)
2. It's a fuel efficient coupe (see above)
3. The original owner laid out 45 large; CPO price was (just) under 30.
I'm a believer (with apologies to Neil Diamond)

2010 C200 CGI
Rado, Kleeman, Armytrix make catless or high flow DP for the CGi, No there is not ECU reflash and No, it probably won't happen, at least anytime soon. I've spent the better part of the year pestering many tuning shops and it's all the same response, no one wants to crack the Siemens ECU. You're gonna have to use piggybacks for now. Enjoy the car for what it is, nothing fast.
