Are you sure this is the renntech in florida? I've been talking to them weekly and just hung up with them 15 minutes ago. They stated the only thing they've done is try to modify an ecu and it destroyed the data and they had to order another one. They stated no updates are expected for 30 to 60 days. Let me know if you'd like any eyes here and ill stop by there today. Cheers! Mike

Yup, definitely the FL guys. That destroyed ECU is probably mine, which is why they had to order a spare and then have both of them sent to the MB dealer down there to be re-programmed. I've been told they'll have something by the end of the week, but as soon as Thomas calls me I'll let the world know. If you can get your peepers on the car and snap a few shots that would be great. Thomas has been good about getting pics to me when he can but he's been busy selling cars (and parts and tunes and such), so any additional info/pics are welcomed! Thanks.
cheers! Mike

Yes it is! Thomas just sent me a few shots of the car. Here's another. When I get the car back it won't have the wheels or spoiler, they just wanted to use it as a testbed for parts. It'll have the 18inch AMG twin spoke and a stock C63 Spoiler.

Not yet. They've got one of he ECUs with the engineer now and are keeping the original ECU stock. They said they could send the car up to me now and mail the tuned ECU to me. Down side of that is that theres no telling what the actual gains might be and I dont have access to a dyno. I told them to hang on to the car until its all wrapped up so they can tweak things if they need to after a few dyno runs.

Still no word yet as to output. I'll keep everyone posted. Hopefully they'll have some good news for Christmas.

just a quick question. The C180 and C250 share the same engine, but different ECU mapping and tuning. Is it possible to replace the stock C180 ECU with a C250 for the published outputs?
Or are there more than that (e.g. turbo size, pulleys, etc?)

The 180 and 200 has the same part # for the turbo , the 250 has another part # so think this one is bigger .

Looks great! I am currently debating getting a c250 or c350 coupe. I would get the c250 and save some money if I can easily retrofit dual exhaust. Are they doing this to your car?
If they do, if you can share any information on the process it would be awesome. I would want to add dual exhaust and quad tips with the C63 diffuser. It appears you may be a perfect guinea pig for this mod for everyone on this forum.
I wonder if the car comes with exhaust hangers already for the passenger side (since they are probably built in the same factory). Also, I think I might want to add x-pipe to make it more aggressive. Sounds good on my c300 v6, not sure how it will sound on the c250 4-cylinder.

They have all the mounting posts ready for your car. You just need the heat shields which are pretty cheap and the C63 diffuser which i got for USD400 at my local dealer.
Here's a snap of mine.

Hi!. I've done the quad exhaust mod on my C180 and it looks really nice. As for the sound of the exhaust, i still have my cat so it's just a low rumble. Not too loud and noisy.

I guess its the same method as pre-facelift for the diffuser. Get C63 diffuser and C63 brackets?
Also, did you do an x-pipe or just the quad tips? If you did, do you have a sound clip?
Lastly, will backpressure affect these cars since they are turbo? I have straight pipes on my c300 currently and really like it. I would like to do it on this car (as it would be louder, save money as you don't need to buy any mufflers, and simplify the install). My only fear is that it might sound like poop on a 4-cylinder vs how it sounds on my v6?

Awesome! So the muffler mounts are already there. Did you just get another oem muffler and 2 more exhaust tips and make it quad?

The new C63 diffuse is different from the pre-facelift version. I did not do an x-pipe as my C180 only has one pipe coming down from the engine. As for the back pressure, there has been much discussion in this forum that they do not help with the turbo. In short, the more freely air flows out, the more freely your turbo spins.
Sound is a very personal thing and I like mine they way it is now. Its a soft rumble that won't attract much attention as you drive thru neighborhoods.
I'll start a new post on this with the pictures from the install.. don't wanna threadjack hehehe

I guess no love for the JDM, I <3 your FD, one of my favorite JDM legend cars. I was gonna pick one up a few months back but the guy sold it before I could make an offer.

Why not? With a lease you can do whatever you want to the car, as long as you either a) Buy it at the end of the lease b) Sell the car or trade it in before the end of the lease or c) take the stuff off before you turn it in. I traded in a leased 2011 BMW 128i with mods on it on the 2012 C and had no issues, my payoff was less than the trade-in value of the car, so it worked out great.
