It looks like theres a tune available for the C250 now from Burger-motorsports the same people who make the JB3 for e92 BMW's. I'm curious if anyone has seen or hear about the results? I've searched and can't really find any feedback as to whether this works or not...

I've been running the JB tune for about a month now PM me for details. Just a note: ran over my friend who has a 2009 E350 Sedan. Friendly WOT to about 0-80mph.

I'm curious about this as well - what exactly is it doing? I see that it's intercepting the MAP sensor as well as some sort of unidentified solenoid.
Definitely interested here if it's nothing too detrimental.

I can't say enough about how satisfied I am with the JB. This renntech sh*t is vaporware at best. Besides I'd never sink $1,500 into an inline 4 without some serious gains.

$1500? really? my evo was custom dyno tuned and it was only 1000... $600 for cobb access port.. $400 for custom dyno tune by hb speed after with a free 2nd tune cuz i went from cat back to turbo back..
$1500 is ridonnnnculous .. lol i hope that's not what they really are going to charge

Hello- My name is Mark from RENNtech-
Just to clarify things- the ECU upgrade from RENNtech for a C350 is $1295.00 which is listed on our website: here is the link for the C350 ecu-

Renntech isn't sounding so great anymore.

IDK how someone would let Renntech get away with something like this. Seems kind of crazy to me.

Maybe you should pay them a visit to make sure that the car is actually being worked on, and not tucked away in the back corner of their lot collecting dust.

Definitly not pleased with the length of time its taking, but its not my only car so I'm not out a ride. They've got the tune done, the only dilemma is getting it to stick on the ECU. Apparently the encription (someone help with the spelling) is pretty serious b/c of the available power gains from the factory. The original engineer working on the project has been sacked since he had over 4 months to come up with something and they/I have bupkiss to show for it. They've got a new engineer working on the project now, which hopefully will speed things up. I've decided to have the car shipped back to me untuned, and once they get the tune done, I'll swap the ECUs. Down side to that is if theres any issues, which I'm not planning on, they wont be able to hash them out. Alas, thus is the saga of my first tuned car.

That sucks. Sounds like they should be paying you in return for using your car as their test mule. At the very least, the ecu tune should be deeply discounted (aka free).

oh wait.. i think i know what renntech is talking about now.. i have this same high tech shiet on my garage door opener.. it's called rolling code or something.. that is definitely next level matrix stuff

One of the reasons I've been so patient is that the promised tune will in fact cost me nothing. They're compensating for the time with the car by throwing on a rear deck spoiler (taken from their C74 show car) and again, not charging me for the tune, however, this has, by their own admission, been the longest most drawn out tune they've ever done. I call them once a week to check up on it and the guys there are nothing but helpful, so I can only be so frustrated, but I work for a Mercedes dealership and I'm trying to get our store to be an authorized location, but the time delay has not helped that effort.

I HAVE THE CAR!!!!!! And know for the internet beatdown of a lifetime.... I had the car shipped as-is, sans-tune, just so I could drive the damn thing. They're still working on the ECU back-up they bought, and once they're done they'll send that ECU to me, I'll swap them, and send the un-tuned one back to them. In the interim, I'm going to try out the Burger tune and see how that works, then once the Renntech tune is done, I'll have some comparo data for everyone. Pics to follow shortly.
