recommendation on rear view camera?
I wanna do it also but I'm clueless on what to buy?
any recommendations on which back-up camera to buy?
i see the prices going from real cheap to real expensive and cant' decide...
to all those that have already conquer this project: what did you get? and if you can do it over again, what will you do differently?
thank you in advance..
Avoid:
CMOS (get only CCD)
Plastic lens (they fog quickly with road salts, sun and grime)
Cheezy IR LED rings around the lens (not only fugly, but a sure sign of a cheap sensor)
Narrow angle (anything less than 150 degrees is garbage)
Anything less than 600 lines resolution (the display in your car is 720 and will look really bad otherwise)
Can anyone comment on the fitment of these different cameras? I want to know if it will fit into the stock location with enough room to recess it so that it looks similar to factory. I only want to have to cut out the square that is outlined on the trunk lid - but nothing else. My car is a lease, so this way if they don't like my returning it with a camera added, I can just buy a new piece of plastic and be good as new.

My kenwood camera only worked for like a year (Maybe because i am living in Canada, the fuking snow and salt *** the camera hard) I am very happy with my $25 camera now. I think the picture quality is even better than then Kenwood LOL. By the way, i think is better to use one of the 12v plug to supply power for the backup camera. I got these 2 item from ebay too. Check it out.

With the two items above, you can supply the power for the backup camera without touching the backup light. Once again, dont spent too much on the camera. The picture quality and durability wont be a huge difference between kenwood and my camera
