the paddles will never work, u cannot retrofit them easily. The light module in the column is not always needed depending where the wheel comes from.

If the wheel is from a US model it should work no problem. The wiring harness is the same as the other w204s, they didnt use a new harness for 2012. Im not sure if the plug itself is the same, you may have to get a plug from the dealer and splice to work, thats what I had to do for an E class wheel change. As far as the paddles go, I have factory paddles in my 2011 C350 and alot is different. U dont get C/S mode next to shifter, only says M on it. There is sport button next to heated seats and rear shade and that activates sport trans and the suspension control system both at the same time. THeres a seperate harness in the column and a control unit for paddle equipped cars, the retrofit would be difficult, I beleive teh trans is the same, but the cluster isnt programmed for it (engaging M mode shows gears 1-7 on dash) and the rest of the coding in the car. the paddles would be for looks only on that wheel. U are better off getting a regular wheel without them, or wait a while for total losses to show up and get part outs cheap

well i haven't install it yet next week i suppose..... my car is european version and it is manual 6 gear(the paddles are no use for me)....i bought it from markus a german friend('markusjoy' he is member here) and here in europe we must buy also the column for having light in the buttons because the 2008-2010 w204 steering column has different wiring harness for lighting so i got one from the facelift 2011 c class.....i think that you have to do the same in us but i m not sure.....markus can answer that.....also 'lovew204' member has installed it with the paddles i think he can also help.....

fitting/paddle shifters

I believe the wheel will fit..... but you will not be able to install the paddle shifters- its a much more complicated process then it seems.

can anyone give updates for this install? I have searched all over and some ppl say the paddle shifters can work, some say need to change the steering column module to have the lighting come on then another says can be programmed via star?

now can someone who actually did the actual install give us insight on this? thanks!

I've heard that the airbags might not work properly.

An update regarding my paddle issue:

I went to DCT motorsports and Ivan gave me a big help and sort this issue out

While examining my paddles and the other working paddles that DCT motorsport have, we found that my paddles (in Carbon Fiber) have different part number than the working one. CF paddles were the type for 2008-2011 steering wheels, so it has different wire termination than the paddles (silver) for 2012 steering wheel. The paddles has two cables (yellow and black), and the difference between the two models was they were in opposite side.
So we flipped the termination (black to yellow, and yellow to black), and it worked perfectly (what it's in the photo is the right termination).

Long story short, if the paddles were from the older model (2008-2011) and will be connected to 2012 steering wheel, the termination of the paddles cable need to be changed/flipped.

Big thanx to Ivan from DCT motorsports for his talent and help.

2010 Calcite C300 with AMG Sports Package
I’ve got a 2010 W204 ‘Avant-garde’ model with the 3 spoke wheel and paddles. I’ve just scored a facelift steering wheel (flat bottom with paddles) and ‘clock spring’ out of a 2012. When I look it to the indi shop to have it fitted, the tech advised that the wheel was not compatible nor was the ‘clock spring’ and that when test fitting there were error messages appearing, hence to say that the wheel was not installed.
Can someone please confirm that the wheel is compatible and that you don’t have to replace the ‘clock spring’ and that the only issue will be that the buttons will not illuminate.
Thanks
