Powdercoating stock 14 spoke 17" rims
Hi Guys,
I just wanted to ask your opinion on whether I should powder coat my stock 17" rims(14 spoke) or look for c63 amg rims. By the way my car is iridium silver. Also if anyone has pictures of a c300 in iridium sliver with powdercoated or c63 wheels I would appreciate it If u could post some pictures.
Thanks in advance

I used plasti dip to see what it would come out like first on the 17's. You can test it on your car and see if that is the route you wish to go. Nothing worse than powdercoating your rims and not liking the way they look.

Did you like the look on the stock 17"? Did you think they were too small?

I acutally thought it made the car look a lot better. When you look on this site and see tons of people with lowered cars it makes you want to rush to lower it. After I painted the wheels I thought it made my car instantly look lower. Here is a pic with it before and after.

It was relatively easy. Plastidip is basically just a protective coating on top of the rim. I have had no problems whatsoever and it's fairly easy to put on. It takes about 3 to 4 coats per rim, but after that it's flawless. People have put this on their tools for years. Its relatively easy to move and very durable. Lookup plastidip removal on youtube.

Haha, I think you misread it. I was saying "if someone posts something on a forum asking for what people think and then gets upset when people don't like what he is saying "They're a dumbass". You have to realize that people are entitled to their opinion and are allowed to say it.

I've got the same rims as invain and I always thought they looked a little girly in the oem finish. I think the black looks more menacing but I'm not a huge fan of the flat black look.

Ideally, I'd put those on...

Yeah gotta agree with you there. I had gunmetal grey and polished and ended up getting them sprayed silver. I didn't think the gunmetal/polished did anything for the car and when I put the silver wheels on it really lifted it.
