Pre vs Post Facelift Differences

The old interior was half acceptable in leather with double stitching & decent door panels in two tone - eg. Black & grey or pebble beige & black or brown, almond & brown etc. In MBTex or cloth monocolour the interior was extremely low rent. In tough times the 2012 is flying off the showroom floors around the world. Why? - the new upmarket & more youthful interior!
EDIT - and improved Telematics for geeks! Big deal in Asia.

I personally find this line of thought inappropriate and offensive, but won't engage in name-calling with you. However, let's deal with your analysis as offered to reveal it's factual basis. Please provide evidence that the perception of an interior as "youthful" correlates with sexual orientation, including the weights for the factors. Please provide the predicted perception for 1) straight, 2) gay, 3) bisexual, 4) transgender. Please be sure to distinguish race, national origin, religion, eye color, or any other factor as reasons for perceiving the interior as "youthful" and contrast to personal opinion as the main factor. As you likely want to be perceived as a thoughtful, intelligent person, please be sure your answer represents you thusly. We're all waiting.

Speaking for myself, the main 2 reasons I'm keen on one is entirely due to the new offering of a coupe variant and the new updated interior, if it were still the pre updated vehicle, I would not even have considered the C Class MB.

Yes - Our plant is flat out at present. Unless you take an Avantgarde with Comand here which they churned out for a promotion & will chuck in R40,000 of extras free including that Comand there is a long wait & a price increase January.

I think Glyn was referring more to the fact that the cars with the leather package get beautiful double stitching - especially on the doors. This is something sorely missing in the MB-Tex C class and it makes the doors the cheapest looking part of the interior because of the lack of any stitching - looks plasticy.
vs
They should stitch MB-Tex doors this way (unless its impossible to do with MBTex).
This is in my opinion, the only part of the interior that they still haven't got right (unless you paid for leather).

Interesting point about 'flying off showroom floors' - here in Australia, the wait period required to recieve a new C Class from an order has increased from 2-3 months max. to at least 3-4 months min. in just the last couple of months, reason given by dealers is demand has increased substantially definitely highlighting an increased popularity and appeal with this new updated C Class, which is a good thing.

The new transmission is not the same, but was redesigned to accept new fluid for lower friction and better fuel economy. Not sure what the difference is, perhaps different size gaps where the fluid is flowing. Nothing major, not like different gears and such, but it is not the same transmission. And most importantly - do not put the same fluid in it as in the old one. Again, not sure how much different the fluid is and whether or not it is synthetic or mineral.

Not sure what you mean by official term for facelift mercedes and how you derived the acronym LCI.
No, the newer w204's don't have eyelids. If you get xenon package you get new LED accents in the headlight housing.
I am one of the people who MUCH prefers the interior of the newer facelift over the outgoing model. It not only looks more elegant and luxurious (IMO), but in the coupe the contrasting color stitching on the seats make it look down right sexy and sporty. I really like the new MB-Tex seats. If you thought the MB-tex in the pre-facelift w204 closely resembled leather, you will be even more impressed with the new MB-Tex seats in the facelift w204. It is smooth and looks just like leather, even feels almost like it to. I would much rather the MB-tex than leather (even if money was no object). Only thing that stinks is that in order to get "off" colored seats like red, you need to opt for the leather package...

I think MB-Tex is almost as good looking as leather (when new) and certainly stands up much better over time.

Good news! - See the new Coupe with MBTex - They now do cross stitching & it looks so nice. You see - I told you Benz was listening to their customers! The latest MBTex is also a BIG improvement.
MBTex in ROW & especially Europe reminds people of the Taxi's it was designed for (Taxi leder).
