Burl walnut shift knob - $100 or less mod ...
I was looking around german ebay and found a burl walnut shift knob that seemed like it would match my interior perfectly. I've not seen this knob on a US mercedes and liked it so I pulled the trigger. It's an OEM part. It was about a hundred bucks shipped. I like it.

Now I need to start looking for a birds eye maple one. I think my wife would like that.
I don't want anything aftermarket, though.
Looks good, BTW.
only dark ash wood in that style
and it doesnt match birdseye
i ordered one from ebay.de
ended up taking it off and going black nappa/alcantara in the same style
cheers! Mike
Thank you kindly. Keep an eye out on that site. They didnt have a walnut one for awhile either. Who knew.
cheers! Mike

Im from europe and have the automatic gearbox but I dont have a red light next to the gear sign which indicates the gear which the car is in at that moment.
Any idea how to turn that on or is that only available for the USA version?
Thanks
I can not view this website in any language other then German, I tried to get it to translate and it does on the first page only, I was wondering if anyone can figure out an alternative way so I could order this for myself?
I would appreciate any and all constructive ideas/comments.

In the search box, enter either "w204 schaltknauf" or "w207 schaltknauf".
After you see what like in the search results, go into that page.
Now copy/paste the URL for that page into Google Translate, http://translate.google.com
Good luck.
Hmm, I'll certainly give your suggestion a go, however I did notice already, that when I entered an amount into the front page, it requires me to I guess signup for an account, even though I have a US eBay account, it doesn't recognize that and requires me to register on its site, I'm all for doing that, but then thats where all the translated pages goes south......
Let me give it a shot, and thanks for your reply, its personally appreciated!
Sure wish there was an easier way to order this thing?

I opened up a US ebay listing and the German ebay listing side by side. I used my US ebay credentials to sign on to German ebay and they worked.
I then looked at the layout of the US page and where the "buy it now" button was. I went over to the German one and clicked the button and bought it. I sent the seller an English email explaining to him that I purchased it and asking if he would accept paypal from me and to give me a total amount to send him including shipping to my address. Done deal.
cheers! Mike
On someone's great advice here, I used the Google Chrome web browser and managed to have each and every page translated from the German eBay site, so success, I have ordered the burl oak gear shift knob for around $110.00 including shipping to the US.
Great person on the German eBay web site to do business with and he understood English, (better then anything I could muster in German) so all in all very good, now just waiting for it to arrive and then install it.
Thanks to everyone for help and advice......

Just wanted to make a post that my Burl Walnut Shift Knob and Black Leather Boot arrived today from Germany that I ordered with assistance from some great people on here, I will be installing it in the next few days, just need to print out the instructions and experiences from other people in this thread.
My thanks to everyone who helped me get it on order and the installation instructions from those who installed before me.
Many thanks!
I ordered the new knob with the same gray/black boot as the original, so easy swap.
So, that leaves me with the original gear shift knob, so if anyone is interested in purchasing it from me, send a private message with your offer.
