Contactee MB of chicago for service B and this is what I got
"Hello Tasho, * * B Service includes: * Change engine oil and filter Check and adjust fluid levels Visually inspect brake pads rotors Inspect interior and exterior lamps Replace dust filter Check and correct tire pressure Check ploy-V belt Inspect all belts and hoses Replace windshield wiper inserts Inspect and rotate tires Brake test and measure rotors with micrometer Reset the FSS counter * * Tina Keene Service Coordinator | Mercedes Benz of Chicago 1111 W. Division Street | Chicago, IL 60642 | Office (312) 628-4444 ext 6508 | TKeene@fletcherjonescompany.com" * Is this what service B includes? And he told me its $500 and it would take the whole day to do. |
Save some cash. Get the oil and filter change done and just buy the dust filter. Check everything else yourself and change out the wipers if they need it along with the cabin filter. I'm getting my brake fluid flushed with the oil change and I'm going to reset my counter myself if they won't do it. That's about $200 cheaper than the dealership here in Columbia, SC quoted me for service B.

I am lucky to have a service book which tells me every detail of the A & B Service.
It also tells of the additional work required on a yearly & mileage basis.eg brake fluid, ATM oil change , air & fuel filter spark plugs ect. IMO I suggest you research what needs to be done then tell the dealer to do it. Then you are in control of the servicing of your car ie the correct items at the correct time . Good luck & enjoy being in charge !! |

I agree, for those that are not used to working on cars. But, if you have the service book, and you are used to doing some mechanic work, all of these things can be done by the owner for about 1/2 the cost or less.

I didn't know you could replace the wiper blade inserts. Thought it was replace the whole blade.
