Im new to Mercedes, I purchased a left over 2011 Artic White C300 4Matic
Im very happy about my purchase. no complaints complete different ride coming from STI, SR20DET 240, Rx-7 etc. lol

I havent posted much just browsing gathering information, and questions via PM

My car was hit the other night, while it was dark I didnt notice anything besides a small crack on the amber side marker light, I had already bought replacements so I didnt complain I was like hey u backed up real slow theres no physical damage so i didnt ask for her insurance docs, nor did i call police for a accident report( no dents to bumper fender or broken headlight)
however today after wanting to take a look at the car I noticed my bumper is not aligned with the hood, and theres a gap between hood and headlight, is this a easy fix, is it costly?

brief story

I was dropping my girlfriend off at an employee parking garage at one of the local casinos where she works. she had left her car there over night and we went back to pick it up. The parking garage of course is one way with a left row and right row of parking spots. I parked my car on in front of her car. so my drivers side door was facing the rear bumpers of her car and another car next to hers. I noticed a car 2-3 cars down turn on. I didnt think anything of it as I was dropping her off and we were on our way. however my girlfriend asked if she could drive my car back home. so I said yes she came to the drivers side and I jumped in her car. as she was positioning the seat in benz. the car that turned on. now decided to back out . and hit my front end. I stupidly did not get her Insurance info as I didnt notice anything directly wrong with the car (i was looking for dents) I do have her license plate number. there are cameras in the employee parking lot on at all times. and my girlfriend sees her ocassionaly at work. should i confront this girl and ask for her insurance info. Or am i completely at fault for not pulling in to a parking space. and or for not having my hazards on?

I know i rambled alot and its alot to read. if you took the time to do so. I appreciate it.

my main question is it expensive to re align the bumper with hood. or will it never be the same?

 

Nobody can give you an accurate estimate without pictures (and even then we aren't bodyshops). However, in regards to the fault, your insurance will claim that you were both in the wrong and be a "no fault" accident, in which you will be responsible for your own repairs. If the repair estimate is higher than your deductible (doubt it) then you might wanna claim it, if not, just pay out of your pocket.

As far as the damage goes, I am a bit confused. Is the bumper CRACKED where the sidemarker is, or is just the sidemarker broken?

As far as the alignment, is the front bumper off, or is it the headlight?

It could be a simple fix, as simple as re-clipping the bumper into the mounts. Perhaps maybe a mount bent where the fix would be to order a new mount. It doesn't "sound" serious. But you never know. Just bring it to a reputable auto body guy and ask him to give you an estimate (it should be free, unless you are dealing with a shiester, then go to another place). Heck, if its just as simple as clipping in back in, they could just pop it in for you and you will be on your way...

 

awesome, yea the only part that is cracked is just the amber side marker, there are no dents or damage to the paint on bumper or fender.

If im looking at the vehicle head on. on the left side there is a small gap where the hood and top of headlight meet. and there is no gap on the right side

 

It may just be that the hood isn't closed properly. The hood has latches on the left and right side in the front. It is a common problem for one of those latches not to close properly. If you press on the front sides of the hood there will be some play in the side not properly latched, while there is virtually no play if it is latched properly.

thats exactly what it was, I did however go to the autobody near by, they stated the bumper is slightly tweaked, he stated maybe its just not fully clipped in,

yes!
while i was there they are in process of working up a quote for blacking out emblems, and chrome, grill, etc

although while they were doing that we noticed someone must have hit me from behind while parking, he assumed it must have been a license plate.....
