So I decided to put on some mufflers but not sure which one
I have the stock one (which I removed from mine) and magnaflow mufflers (to match my xpipe ?? lol ) in mind..haha
what do you guys think
anyone had installed magnaflow mufflers before?? how it sounds
because I think the stock one is too quiet..
btw I want to keep my original tips

Install the magnaflow mufflers. I have them and a magnaflow x-pipe. Very deep below 3K. Overall, louder throughout the whole RPM range but not unbearably loud.

NICE!! which muffler did you buy
no loud drone sound inside the car??

I am thinking getting a double in double out muffler and put it right behind the xpipe ( so I only have to buy one muffler)
is this gonna work?? is there gonna be any difference??
thanks

I bought Magnaflow part # 11375.
I don't exactly know what "drone" sounds like. But it seems like the loudest RPM range is 2K-3K from the inside.

And a double in/out muffler right after the x-pipe? I would expect it to act like any old resonator and quiet it down a bit. Never heard of anybody trying this, though.

Haha. Don't see many locals on MBW. You might be the first!

My car isn't necessarily loud, but it's definitely a lot deeper.

Yea there are a couple guys in the 212 and maybe S or CLK forums from Raleigh, and there was another W202 guy on mbworld, but you're about it also. Are you from Chapel Hill or just at UNC?

Drone is when the sound get real deep and your ears start to hurt!!

I have quad mf race set up with a mf x pipe . Sounds great but drones a lot and causes interior noise vibration . Really loud . If you can live with the vibration I say go with the mf setup as it sounds so much better than stock .

Quad tips shouldn't change the sound.

Also, I wouldn't say it drones a lot. At least on a C300, maybe a C350 might drone a little more. And I don't get many interior vibrations. There's just one that I can't figure out if it's from the shifter area or the cup holder things that hold the cup in place.

Are you going to leave the stock mufflers intact? I'd believe this would be quieter than stock because you're essentially replacing the resonator with an x-pipe and an extra muffler. An x-pipe doesn't do much as far as loudness goes anyways.

the magnaflows sound great, it really is nice. If you want some sound and no drone leave the stock resonator on and just change out the mufflers w the MF race ones, they are small and fit good. I loved mine they were sweet

I am going to just install this at the place where my resonator is.
It will be right after the Xpipe...then its just straight pipe to the stock tips
I will let you guys know how it sounds after I install it

It doesn't look like it'll fit. But to answer your question, that's going to be loud.

the only way to get rid of the drone is to have the stock or aftermarket resonators installed. Personally an Xpipe is a waste of money IMO, unless your doing mufflers and want that loud sound. I had magnaflow race mufflers w teh stock resonator and it was badass, I got meisterschafts now and have aftermarket resonators and its sounds badass still, with NO drone in the cabin. U gotta remember where the resonator is on the car, right under the rear floor, theres only sheetmetal there. You can def use dynamat or something similar to help shield the noise, the MB factory uses that shiny tin heatshield stuff, thats all really. I lined the bottom of my cars exhaust tunnel w dynamat xtreme just to be safe all the way back. You can even do something like AZN300 did he lined his whole trunk w second skin w 2 layers I think. Either way no resonator equals drone in the cabin.....
